Gerrard is so much more dangerous when he doesnt take them. He scored the winner from a corner and before that he had a decent shooting oportunity as well.

 

Can we please have our best shooter in shooting positions?

We looked a lot more dangerous from set pieces today than we have in a long time. Unfortunately our defending at set pieces is worse than ever, so it equals itself out.

 

The point about Gerrard might be a good one. Get our most dangerous players into the area and go for it.

It's scary how every time the opposition has a corner or free kick, they look like they have a great chance to score. Ever time we have a corner we seem to hit the first defender.

It is ridiculous...every time Bolton had a free kick or corner, I kept switching the radio off before they take it....I don't remember us ever being that shaky. So much so, I am even starting to doubt the zonal marking thinking that too many opposing managers have sussed out how to make it look ineffective.

I hate our corners, they are usually a waste of time. Gerrard should be on the edge of the box, and Torres in the middle, Kuyt at the back post and defender at front. All we need is someone to deliver it.

 

As for defending corners, its a pain because only Carra knows the defensive pattern well. The other three are learning it. Think back to when Rafa started, it took 12-15 games for the defense to solidify.
