There's some weird ordering in that list.

- Joey Jones ahead of Mark Lawrenson

- loads of people above Beardsley who weren't in his class.

- Alan Kennedy ahead of Steve Nicol.

- Carra as 9th ever best Liverpool player !! FFS

- Tommy Smith at no 5. Ridiculous.

... and although he was never really loved, I think McManaman should have made that list. He was a superbly talented footballer. I also think Xabi Alonso was a far better player than the likes of Sammy Lee, and certainly on a par with the Whelans and McMahons.

And where the f*ck was Danny Murphy ??!!??

Here's another : A 'Brazillianiant' Liverpool Top ten. No carthorses, or 'all about the commitment' merchants. Just class players.

3. Beardsley

4. Gerrard

5. Torres

6. Hansen

7. Souness

8. McManaman

9. Lawrenson

He did qualify the Beardsley pick with:

"But when you've played for Manchester United and Everton, you're not getting out of the 40s. It's just wrong."

Thnk you must have done. Deffo died Nov 2004. Round about the same time as John Peel if I remember correctly.

Hyypia should be higher

Dudek shouldn't be in there at all

Molby and Neal should be higher. Callaghan too

Hamann, Joey, Owen, Fowler all should be lower. Carragher probably too.

'Kinell, I don't think he played more than 20 minutes for United. He was still world class. No doubt about it.
