ynwa.tv Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Down Memory Lane Double Agents Meet the Referee
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 2 home wins for Pool and Madrid please. Would leave both us on 6 and the others on 0
R A Softlad Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Yeah hoping for Keane to get in on the action.
psl Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Would be good to see Torres score again and keep the momentum going.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 we should throw in Ngog and Babel as well if we are handing out the goals
Gerrardrules Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I reckon Agger will start this match. Seconded. Good match to built his fitness and confidence.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Cant see it myself, Agger will not get in on a 'free-pass' - poor form, suspension or injury is the only way I see him getting back in
Guest Snorky Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Remember Marseille last season ? Too much overconfidence here.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Remember Marseille last season ? Too much overconfidence here. My second post was tongue in cheek, my first was serious - 2 home wins helps take away uncertainty of the group as much as can be after 2 games. Marseille will hopefully be different as Rafa had Torres on the bench and Momo and Leto in the same midfield - I think he stomached as much drama as he could last season in the group stages so we are unlikely to see the same again
psl Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Remember Marseille last season ? Too much overconfidence here. Don't need to look that far, I wish I could remember who rolled their eyes at me for daring to suggest he shouldn't put a bet on us scoring more than four against Stoke. I do think that supporters priorities are very much with the Premier League however and this may explain a little why people are discussing changing the team for the Champions League. Bringing in Agger wouldn't really weaken us anyhow.
CarraLegend Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I like it when their fans sing forza forza forza PSV. Lets t*** these as a show of appreciation.
Sion Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Remember Marseille last season ? Too much overconfidence here. That was a one in a thousand performance, not gonna happen again. Especially when you consider we played Sissoko, Benayoun and Leto in the same midfieldwe were asking for it
Oli Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Anybody else think Aurelio will start this one?
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Anybody else think Aurelio will start this one? I think he'd start every game when fit until we see Dossena settle into the team and start putting in the performances that Rafa believes he is capable of
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 There is only one competition this season. Obviously I wouldnt mind winning both but City on Sunday is more important.
Coyler Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 There is only one competition this season. Obviously I wouldnt mind winning both but City on Sunday is more important.Which is why we should be aiming to be heading into that match with a midweek win, just to keep the league tails up. In fact, we might want to think about winning all the midweek games to keep the boys priapic for the weekend.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 (edited) There is only one competition this season. Obviously I wouldnt mind winning both but City on Sunday is more important. Is there a trade off though, I think the best sauce for the squad is this - play your damn best and you retain your place. You will get rested and replaced when that form falls away and you can come back later in the season. Actually scratch that - it doesnt apply to Torres and Gerrard - they should be told that they are not in the FAC or Carling Cup squads and hopefully the last 2 group stage games of the CL Edited September 29, 2008 by Rory Fitzgerald
Stevie H Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 play full strength and we could panel these.
John am Rhein Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I just hope we can learn something from this game
Smith Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I just hope we can learn something from this game That has to be the main objective.
McBain Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I hope we can learn we have 3 points and learn Keane has got his first
sutty Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 play full strength and we could panel these.I'd go so far as to say try to smash them off the park early, then pull the big players for Sunday.
