Early days....really early days oh and we`ve only seen him for less than 90mins..

BUT he looked pretty good when he came on today, a great goal....shows intellgence, makes good runs...seems very aware(loved the link up between him and spearing) and has a nice little swagger/confidence about him..

Maybe he could be a secret weapon this season with all the pressure on the torres-keane partnership....can definetly see him doing some damage off the bench...

He's got the talent as long as he has the right attitude. If he remains hungry and doesn't think he has made it just because he has signed for Liverpool he should be a very useful addition.

Not shy to have a go at goal as well. I miss those type of players, McDermott, Souness, Kennedy, Molby etc always seemed to be 'having a go'. If he does as well as them I'd be happy.

Looks comfortable on either foot as demonstrated by the 'Ronaldinho' trick with his right and then lashing it with his left.

And agree with the poster above, a couple of tasty rasping shots always goes down well with the fans :)

Reminds me of slighter Ryan Babel ..... good technique, pacey and likes a shot . Fingers crossed but Rafa could just have pulled off a fantastic signing here folks!

Well happy !!!

Our squad is really really strong now and underneath we have an exciting crop of youngsters , great times are ahead.

Speaking of whom, was he on the bench today?

The Liverpool team in full is: Cavalieri, Dossena, Arbeloa, Skrtel, Carragher, Plessis, Gerrard, Benayoun, Kuyt, Keane, Torres.

Subs: Reina, Hyypia, Agger, Alonso, Pennant, Insua, Darby, Spearing, Nemeth, Ngog.

Early days, but...He clearly has lots of individual skill yet is at times still a bit raw, is not always quick to get his head up and see 'possibilities' yet is quite happy to have a punt when the chance arrives and is good at finding the right position and making himself available - clearly, also not a 'goal hanger' in ye olde schoolground way that so many french strikers seem to be, and likes to be involved all round.

The lad has plrnty of confidence, and judging from his reactions, a sense of camaraderie and some humility - all of which should stand him in good stead. If he has patience too, he could turn out to be a monstrous bargain.

You drew this conclusion from one game. Fantastic.

Two, actually - and more observations than conclusion - what's up - to positive for you?

Don't want to see people put too much pressure on the kid actually - look at the scrutiny Babel got last season. They're just kids coming to a new league and people said that Babel wasn't a success last season.

We don't have to start a thread about a decent performance in a friendly in early august.

thought he was poor in his first game, (which is understandable)

yesterday he improved and was ok. Very good goal, and was pleased that it was with his left foot when he looks a right footed player.

reading his former clubs comments about him, i wonder if he may have had development problems (physically) like gerrard did at the same age.

They said he was very good at 16-17, then he grew very fast and has had injury and confidence problems as a result. lets hope he is now at an age were he can get over them and realise is potential.

his career could still go either way
