.....This man is a light in a very dark time at the moment, his passion, his work rate, his enthusiasm, his attitude.

I think I love him.

If I could spend 5 minutes with him today I will be able to see the world in a different light.

Hail Kuyt!

Is it because of his hair?

Forever lauding powerhouse workhorses is all well and good, but we need more deadly finishers, and for a striker, that certainly isn't him.

If Kuyt isn't a Liverpool player next season then I would be gutted.

He may be limited in some ways - but his energy, commitment and enthuisasm for the game could be emulated by others to their benefit.

I still don't think he's good enough to wear the red shirt.

To think Moores put our future in the Champions League in jeopardy to buy this guy for 11 million is beyond belief.

He works hard and all that s***, but what we need here is end product. And at 11 million, he's just not good enough.

He's given us some good performances this season. He has his limitations but wouldn't you be looking to improve on Voronin, Riise, Benayoun, Finnan and Pennant before looking at Kuyt's position in the squad ?

Its a foregone conclusion that Crouch is going and Voronin is no use to us so you wouldn't want to clear out 3 strikers in one fell swoop AND bring in the fullbacks and wide midfielders we need. Its too much for one summer of transfers.

He has done enough to earn himself a place in the squad for next season. He has not done enough to satisfy Rafa's need for a quality winger.

New play by Samuel Becket: Waiting For The Winger

face it: this mythical winger is NEVER coming.

Hail Kuyt!!!

Agreed, voronin, Riise, Benayoun, Finnan, Pennant and crouch should all leave this summer

Kuyt's a brilliant player. He should be a role model for any young player coming through into the side, because he's the ultimate professional who puts the team above everything else.

He's done more than enough to earn himself a place in the squad next season. As I've said previously, we might need someone with a little bit more guile/creativity when we're faced with the stubborn teams that put eleven behind the ball and refuse to leave their own half, but he's one of the first names on the teamsheet for important matches, because he nearly always comes up with the goods on the big occasions.

Wtf?

He should be the exact opposite, role models like Kuyt is exactly why most British footballers are crap.

If you run long enough and work hard enough you will do just fine, why use time to try to improve your technique if it gets in the way of a good shift of running and working really hard without the ball?

F*ck technique. We play in a British League. If we start playing in the Bundesliga maybe we can consider your advice.

So you think players should just stand around and wave their arms dramatically if they don't receive the ball?

Kuyt's team ethic and work rate are characteristics that should be instilled in all youngsters aspiring to come through our academy.

In which case, we might as well f*ck any chance we have of winning the league any time soon. I can see why he's well liked - hard worker, etc, etc but if you want to know what a Liverpool team with one or two quality players surrounded by hard workers like Kuyt then may I remind you of the teams of Gerard Houllier?

Kuyt would never be a regular starter in any other team with title pretensions, and as long as he's a regular starter next year then that's all we'll have regarding the title.

Kuyt's work rate and enthusiam, whilst admirable, are the very least we should expect from every player. That alone is not enough and should not justify his selection.

He's a squad player, nothing more. We need quality in his position, not water carriers.

Keep him and use him against lesser teams and as a super sub when needed.
