I've just been castigated for not still having it. What happens to your old clothes when you're a kid? Never understood that.

Dinner lady at our school used to know somebody who worked at Umbro and she could get them cheap. Virtually our entire class used to have the red Hitachi shirt :D

I had loads of footy shirts - and they were all chucked out by my dad when I went to Uni. Serves me right really.

Not sure how old I was when I got this but I thought it was excellent. Pity about the transfers peeling off! hitachi.jpg

I'm pretty sure that's where mine came from.

Do you remember when they used to have the clearance sales at the Rossmore premises? They were class.

We used to ride down to the factory on our bikes every summer and look through the windows to see what new kits were being made.

'twas the first replica shirt i ever had - forever associate with the king and his absurdly red face, huffing & puffing around the pitch.

though that could just be the senility kicking in.

then my mam got it wrong in the wash, or maybe it was shoddy manufacturing, and the collar & cuffs ran.

it was pinker than pink.

:bye:

that badge is amazing, a strong simple design.

I imagine that white hitachi kit would sell massively - i'd buy it - but probably not do-able officially via the club because we're tied to Adidas and Carlsberg?

Would Umbro be legally allowed to do them with Hitachi's permisson?
