Sponsor-less shirts

Whats ugly about the club crest?

Looks like it was designed by committee in the early 90s......wait....

Too many redesigns over the years. Too many colours.

A simple Liverbird should be the clubs crest again, so simple, and the brand would be a lot stronger visually as a result, which would sell more merchandise. I don't expect it to happen though.

if the club were to put the price of a shirt up 5 or 10 pound to cover the loss of having the sponsorship on it would people wnt that?

Just asking like

OR the crest incorporates one of the most important parts of the club ethos - remembering Hillsborough.

Are you seriously suggest we ditch the eternal flame because you claim it will help sell more merchandise?

That argument aside the club sell plenty of stuff with a simple liverbird design on.

There was a very simple design on here a while ago that featured just the Liverbird and the Eternal Flame (but not the Gates or the YNWA). It looked great.

our crest is too fussy. shankly gates and the green.

No worries, when DIC come in, they'll pay us 60 quid to wear the shirt and promote Dubai ;)

indeed, and free blowjobs once a week by supermodels and baths in Unicorn spunk :D

No.

It was that, without the LFC, without the YNWA, without the badge shape (i believe) and two larger eternal flames, one on either side.

Is it possible to have moving gifs on football shirts nowadays? Amazing...

yeah im not really keen on the spinning design, can't see how that would be an improvement tbh

No the flame could be retained in a variety of ways, i preferred just a simple liverbird with the flame to one side, but its not just about selling merchandise, or even the strength and impact of the brand, it is about tradition. a liverbird on my chest.....as it stands it is just too literal, to complicated, and the main graphic element that best represents the tradition is obscured by a poorly conceived 90s design job, that was itself an attempt to embed tradition within, yet has the opposite effect.

Even if the green was removed it would be a start. I hate any kind of 3D rendering or lighting effects on it too.

Arsenals badge is another example of how not to redesign. their old crest was a classic.

That way you can get more than one sponser on your shirt

point of trivia:

arsenal changed the direction of the cannon on their badge (from facing left as is the heraldic norm) to facing right so the club could copyright the design.
