Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 First things first - any idea if this game is on live on some foreign station. Next - the team Reina Arbeloa Carra Skrtel Aurelio .......Mascherano Alonso ...............Gerrard.............Kuyt.............................Babel ................Torres.................. IMO1. Stick with the same formation.2. Give Sami a rest and move Carra in field3. Let Alonso try and play himself back into form4. Leave the front 3 alone, no harm in maintaining consistency in our main problem area - 2 vs Inter, 3 vs Boro, 3 vs Bolton, grand. Torres with 3, Gerrard with 2, Kuyt and Babel with 1 each in those games.
honourablegeorge Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Think you're about right there. Don't like Carra at full back at all. There's a good case for Yossi too, btu there always is.
Hobbsie Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) Swap Kuyt for Benny Edited March 3, 2008 by Hobbsie
Hassony Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I can see Crouch coming in for torres in for either West ham or Newcastle With inter in mind and the fact that Torres looked tired/ poor yesterday
Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 If ever there was a case to be made for Kuyt playing (and its not very often one is made for him) then these are the games. Let him try and continue rebuilding his confidence, its doing no harm - if Benny is brought (I like him as a player) in, he'll keep moving infield. At least we have some semblence of structure going forward and the players know their roles.

Rimbeux Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I can see Crouch coming in for torres in for either West ham or Newcastle With inter in mind and the fact that Torres looked tired/ poor yesterday I think it's also about gameplan. He was chasing a lot of s*** yesterday very little decent service, losts of long aimless punts giving no time for the others to join him, everytime we actually played it through midfield rather than punt it at a change of possession, we looked dangerous. The plan may well be get the game won, (we have no room to slip up and recover later in the season), take him off after 70 mins for the next couple of games as yesterday, there will be a lot less useless running to do at home to those two sides. Arbeloa in for Sami

Tyler Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 important to get 3 points in this one and put pressure on everton to keep winning wonder if rafa will have an eye to inter for the newcastle game - maybe rest one or two defensive players like masch, hyypia i like our new formation - seems to get the best from gerrard - really capitalises on his shooting ability - puts him in positions where he is dangerous

The_Adder Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Same formation, same team set-up. Benni in for Kuyt (think he would be better there anyway)Arbeloa in for Sami (much more attacking fullback and sami gets a rest)
fred milne Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 ReinaFinnan Carragher Skrtel AurelioAlonso Gerrard MascheranoKuyt Torres Babel
beejay Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 ReinaFinnan Carragher Skrtel AurelioAlonso Gerrard MascheranoKuyt Torres Babel Agree with that. Let's not start talking about resting Torres again for these sorts of games. Give him a breather when the game is won, like yesterday. Babel looked shot towards the end though, his first full 90 mins & I wouldn't be too surprised if Pennant or Benayoun replaced him in the starting line-up.
honourablegeorge Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Torres doesn't need a rest. He didn't score against Bolton. He clearly needs match practive to regain his sharpness. And when h does score, well, you can't drop him then.
BDB Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 It's not live in the US, delayed 3 Hours, which to be fair I can see, as there are CL Games going on at the same time.
Guest Kaizer Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 It's not live in the US, delayed 3 Hours, which to be fair I can see, as there are CL Games going on at the same time. Its live in Scandinavia, Canal+ Sport1.
BDB Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Looks like it is on Setanta in the US, but only if you have Directv.. on the Setanta Extra channel 670..
Cunny Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Torres should not be rested from any Premier League game with Europe in mind.Qualification for the Champions League via our league position remains our best option.
smokescreen Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 The full 90 minutes is on LFC TV channel... on at 00:15. Time for me to get into avoid the result until midnight mode tonight
Montse Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 If you google asia, plate and tv putting them all together then there is a stream. No idea about quality tho
ManxRed Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 The full 90 minutes is on LFC TV channel... on at 00:15. Time for me to get into avoid the result until midnight mode tonight There's an hour's worth on Sky Sports 1 at 10:30. Slightly less game, but less time to wait!
smokescreen Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 There's an hour's worth on Sky Sports 1 at 10:30. Slightly less game, but less time to wait! Yeah, but I go for the hardcore waiting...
Sion Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Babel seriously has to play. Also don't think Mascherano should be needed to play these types of games. Defence Yossi Gerrard Alonso Babel Crouch Kuyt (If Torres is out)
