The walters step over Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Just reported on SSN, cruciate apparently - not a nice thing to happen to anyone but I like him as a defender and this could prove to be the key in us getting through the tie.
Hassony Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 the big coward, I bet he is faking it as he doesn't fancy another trip to anfield.
Stevie H Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 means that nasty bluesh*te c*** materazzi will play against us instead.
Hassony Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 means that nasty bluesh*te c*** materazzi will play against us instead. excellent
Zoob Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 At first I thought this was great news - we'll no longer be linked buying the donkey. But the fact that he won't play against us, is definitely bad news.
Guest JV Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 (edited) Kaka twisted him up so bad yesterday that Samuel got injured. I kid you not. Edited December 24, 2007 by JV
Nerik Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Big blow for Inter. They still have Cordoba and Materazzi but I can see Torres giving Materazzi a very hard time.
Guest JV Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Materazzi has just come back from a long injury lay off aswell.
PhilM Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Materazzi will score against us And then Yossi will headbutt him.
SMD Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Don't they have Chivu who's preferred to Materazzi anyway?
Guest JV Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Don't they have Chivu who's preferred to Materazzi anyway?Don't think he's preferred to him. They seem to play him all over the place. He was in midfield against Milan.
SMD Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 That's because they've had so many injuries though. Last I heard, they had Vieira, Dacourt, Stankovic and Figo all out.
Guest JV Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 And Materazzi has been injured near enough since Chivu has joined.
fyds Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Yeah, brain damage takes a while to clear up.You need to have a brain to suffer brain damage - Materazzi lacks the former. JV's right - Samuel up against Torres would have been a laugh for us - Materazzi up against Torres may = 2 penalties and a sending off.
SMD Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Mancini would be an idiot if he put Materazzi against Torres. My Inter supporting friend seems to think that it'll be Maicon, Cordoba, Chivu and Maxwell/Zanetti, injuries permitting.I'm not a big fan of Cordoba but he's under the impression he'll marshall Torres. Personally I hope their injury problems continue - Chivu playing in midfield wouldn't hurt us as much as Vieira, Cambiasso and Stankovic.

JV's right - Samuel up against Torres would have been a laugh for us - Materazzi up against Torres may = 2 penalties and a sending off. Its not like Materazzi never have been up against a quality striker earlier is it?
Guest JV Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Cordoba's an excellent defender.and he's fast
fyds Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Its not like Materazzi never have been up against a quality striker earlier is it?...and he's often had a second one ripped by such a striker.
miceal Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Samuel's injury is good news for us. I said on another thread before the draw that this was (on current form) the team I feared most of those possible. Cordoba is much slower than he used to be. He reminds me of Carra: peerless club servant but now prone to giving away daft penalties/make embarrassing mistakes, through attempting to use the defender's dark arts to compensate for loss of mobility. With Materazzi you know there'll be a moment of madness at some point. I think it highly likely that Chivu will play central defence against us. Inter have a long injury list and are still awesome in Serie A at the moment. The good news is that the games are weeks away so they can still lose form in that time. If Ibrahimovic was to play Sammi and Carra on current form it would be carnage. I would be optimistic. I just wish the venues were reversed. Their fans loved us after Istanbul. My wife and I went to a home game v Fiorentina at the San Siro the following season and wore our replica Liverpool shirts. Treated like Gods.
Leroy Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 2-0 our place go there 1-1, going to put a £10 on this result, so not worried about who they play. I Dreamt It
Guest Anders Honoré Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 That's because they've had so many injuries though. Last I heard, they had Vieira, Dacourt, Stankovic and Figo all out. it's impressive that they are running away with the league despite this.
Ombudsam Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I'm not a big fan of Cordoba but he's under the impression he'll marshall Torres. If there is a type of defender to do it, it is him
