Fits in the the desired pitch I suppose. Keep it light, keep it 'entertaining' full of bonhomie and nothing too complicated or far away from man in the pub opinions, and if you dont understand it, just say so. Notice they try and get weightier with the CL coverage

But when the vast majority regularly spout uninformed schit (Gray, Nicholas, Merson, Lawrenson, Wright, McQueen, Crooks, Claridge, Hoddle, Wilkins, Redknapp, Souness, Francis, Burley, Kamara, Gale, Marwood, Smith, Earle, Le Tissier, Platt, Dunphy off the top of my head), it's reasonable to groan about it. Why are there so few knowledgeable, interesting, articulate pundits out there? Surely the broadcasters who hire them would benefit as a result...

Agreed. Plus it's always said, "how the f*ck do they know what's going on?". They may not know everything but it's a reasonably good bet that they'll have contacts in the game far superior to most people on an internet forum who seem to think they know everything as clearly as if they'd been sat in the board room listening.
