we know that when we actually play proper football and attack sides, we look good....we look dangerous, we have the ability there to win every game.........yet the players are brainwashed into being part of the wheel, part of machine built to stop other sides....that is always our first thought, how do we stop this side, what tactics should be used to stop the other side..etc,etc..

 

Now this generally works well in europe(apart from this season of course) but in the premiership...you cant play like this, and it feels like we`ve been playing this way for a good 10 years...it doesnt work.

 

We need to go at teams....we can be going to somewhere like Blackburn playing for the point, you dont go there with 2 defensive midfielders against a blackburn side already full of injuries...this is a side we should be beating, for us to go there for a point means we are quite happy to settle for challenging for that 3rd, 4th spot...

 

its so annoying cos we have many great players being used in the wrong way....babel has talent but is obviously being told to look for a better option first...to not beat the man and get to the line but cut inside and bring in the central midfielders..

oh and pter crouch has looked good whenever hes played....why he doesnt start is beyond me.....no doubt rafa has a problem with him....if so, why ruin the players career......tell him hes off in jan and dont place him in the squad..

I think there are maybe two or three sides that will genuinely fear playing us, and they tend to fear everyone!

 

 

In terms of attacking threat, we are about the same as Blackburn, and even then it's about two individuals, not how we play.

We have an egotistical manager who HAS to prove a point by being a tactical genius. If he doesn't change his ways he WILL go the same way as Houllier.

 

How come so many strikers are brilliant for other clubs yet when Rafa signs them they go completely opposite ?

ok you know what i mean...this season he has looked good whenever hes played...THOUGH say that..........last season he was pretty good too ;)

he was ok against toulouse, wretched against reading and marseille. he's played well recently though, and should have started today, I reckon it will be him and voronin midweek.

I beg to differ, Crouch is getting some kind of cult status simply because he isnt playing enough for people to remember just how poor he can sometimes be.

But doesn't Rafa just rotate for the sake of rotation? And players know no matter how badly they play they will get a game the next time it is their turn to play?

remember what good stuff we played against chelsea and derby with a full squad of players. we've not become sh*te overnight, it's just the manager's making some poor choices at present. we'll be back once alonso, torres and agger return.
