Guest Si Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Thought he was decent when he came on - certainly made some things happen. Obviously a bit rusty and lacking a yard or two of pace but something positive on an otherwise s***ty evening. Needs to be get getting a good run or games now.
RafaShanks Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Shows what a proper winger should do for a team in the very short time on the pitch. Sadly our best attacking player (not counting Stevie), which pretty much sums up our current plight at the moment.
Hassony Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 great to see a winger who stays in position and can go both sides, a fit kewell is a great asset for us
CaptainXabi Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 He was pulling out of challenges...which is a policy I completely agree with when Harry Kewell is concerned.
RafaShanks Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I remember a passage of play in the first half when we were on the edge of the Blackburn box. Babel and Yossi were both in the centre with only Finnan offering any width. So easy to defend against.
McBain Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 He's one if a very small number of attacking players at the club who actually has the skill and football brain needed to seriously challenge for a title We need about 3 more like him. But actually fit
Andy-oh-six Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 If he could stay fit until the end of the season he would make a great difference to the team. He won't be fit though.
Rimbeux Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Smart player, knows what he's about. We need them, it might spread
Red Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Nice to see him back and offering something to the team despite... "he's absolutely finished with LFC" "he's yesterday's news." "he is finished as a top class footballer" "his time as a top quality footballer has ended" "I've had it with him."

Harry is ace but broken

mathewbet1 Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 is this his 20th 'last chance' stopped counting a while ago. Fingers crossed though..............looked quite sharp today considering the length of time hes been sat on his as shagging a soap start model girldfriend in his jazzuzi of his cheshire mansion whilst playing xbox live and eating a low fat kebab at the same time, i really pitty the fellow
Zoob Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Does he get a signing on bonus each time he comes back from Injury and Rafa says "He's like a new signing"? Kewell is a class player. Just horribly unlucky to have had all those injuries. Can't believe how some people still have a go at him as if it's somehow his own fault. Very skillful, and as others have said, one of the few truely football-intelligent players we have. It's such a massive 'if' but if he does stay fit, he'll score goals, create goals and give us the balance that he's shown he's capible of when ever he gets a decent run.
Foo Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Not only him, but the entire team wouls do well with an lengthy injury-free spell now.
abc Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 He was better than decent when he came on. He gave our play flow, guile and movement. He wasn't doing too much more than showing for the ball, and showing willingness to run with it, and then laying it off to the man in space. The difference between having him and Babel on the left wing was stark. He should be given the chance to play alongside Yossi, whose quick feet and excellent link up play was the reason we had some good passages of passing. Basically we need all our good ball players to be on the pitch together.
Guest SpiritualWarrier Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 The only positive thing to come out of a negative performance.
growler Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I thought he was great. showed what a quality winger will do for us.
Cooldude Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 He was great Wasn't brilliant and beat every man or anything (Even though he did it once or twice), but he tried to make things happen by running at blokes, playing one-twos and making runs to present and getting stuck in He was really just doing the basics, which smart footballers do very well. Unfortunately a lot of our other players can't do the same
Magic8Ball Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 He's one if a very small number of attacking players at the club who actually has the skill and football brain needed to seriously challenge for a title We need about 3 more like him. But actually fitabsolutely !!! ( not enough knights )
Skillz Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 His 1st touch stood out like a sore thumb IMO. He is the one meant to be lacking in match sharpness but he stood out. TBH it is not the 1st time i have seen Harry do that. No matter what you think of him he is one of the classiest players in the league.
urban Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 He is GREAT at the simple stuff. He receives ball, he dribbles ball, he passes ball, he moves into position, he receives ball, he dribbles ball, he crosses or he shoots at goal.

Some say he should play 2nd striker but i disagree with that. He needs games, lots of games before he is sharp enough for that. Even though he apparantly prefers to play RW or 2nd striker, he is always effective on the left. He plays the position perfectly IMO and does with ease. His first touch last night was superb, stood out, and yet he has hardly played!
kick316 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 There has never been any doubt on his skills and abilities. The question now is whether he can stay fit throughout the season. An on form and fit Kewell = one of the best attacking players in the league.
