I don't think Carrick is actually that good. For a playmaker he doesn't seem to make much impression on United's games. £18 million was it? I don't know how much they paid for Hargreaves but he doesn't seem better than OK to me either.

Well of course they'll still be able to put a decent side out. But with Fletcher also injured, they'll have to play O'Shea in midfield and they're down to bugger all cover there or at the back.

Shame for them about the timing as it shows up a bit of weakness in the squad, but they'll probably still win every game. The problem with Hargreaves is that he consistently picks up injuries and hasn't played that much in the past two or three seasons in particular. This would be fine if he was only going to play CL and top teams. He's been nursing the same tendonitis problem since he joined, and I suspect did his thigh in as a result of extra conditioning of that muscle to take some strain off his knees. He'll probably come back and play every game to the end of the season now!

That's the thing with them.

Their ability going forward will always mask up their deficiencies.As long as one of Rooney,Tevez,Ronaldo,Giggs and Scholes are fit,they'll be fine.
