Gunga Din Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 wonderful today, absolutely crushed Derby today. the thing today was that even at 6 nil.we were still chasing and closing down every ball. not just this game, but every one of our 6 competitive games this season we have dominated from start to finish. i wonder how many shots on target teams have got against us this season. not many. and Torres is f***ing class

We were frighteningly superb - snap, snap, snap, never giving the oppo a minute's peace. Allied to our technical brilliance, there are not many teams who will able to live with us I'm so fecin made up Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
slapnuts Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 totally class today. Top of the league we should have 2 points more too and not a goal conceded from open play. it is looking good. Torres is pure class it must be awful playing against Javier.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 we've conceded 2 goals this season. Both penalties
Bo Benn Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Loved it how we at 3-0 (or was it 4-0?) switched to 4-3-3
KD07 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 we've conceded 2 goals this season. Both penalties I say, back to Pako Hill lads!
The Invisible Man Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Shame we have Internationals because we look unbeatable at the moment. The next fixture can't come quickly enough.
fyds Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 (edited) Even Kev was in good articulate voice today! Anyone else give him a wave? Great play - and like Wayne, what I'm most impressed about is the foot stayed on the gas - no sitting back - the killer instinct remained throughout - oh, how we've needed that in recent years! Bootle Buck Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 The intensity is something we haven't had since the 80's. Veronin on for a few minutes today scoring and chasing after everything. We finally have group of strikers who are hungry and want to prove themselves. I seriously tyhink this squad will challenge for the league all the way.
Nebraska Red Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Bootle Buck in "mockering the season" shocker.
Guest bigbak Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 It was only Derby. Plus points for me are Torres and Babel. Kuyt finally has quality around him to sign. Voronin is the steal of the summer. Pennant showed McClaren cocked up in called up the waster Bentley All attackers what a change to be talking about attacking talent, rather than a solid defence. Reina needs to get himself a comfy seat for the second half.
RP Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 We would have won that game 1-0, maybe 2-0 last season. There is a different intensity and desire about the whole squad this season. Having no Carra or SG and with Crouch not in the 16, we still had a bench of outfield players Riise, Benayoun, Momo and Voronin. All very impressive.
Lee W Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 There is a different intensity and desire about the whole squad this season. Aye, the way we are pressing the ball is very encouraging. This is also the strongest, technically skilled squad we've had for a very long time, with so many options in the squad for any situation. Mascherano was a monster again yesterday, and as someone said in another thread - BUY !
Cooldude Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Love how Torres and Voronin were closing down and making slide tackles as if their lives depended on it even at the dying seconds. Love how Rafa put on another striker and make it 4-3-3 when we were so many goals up. Love how the team never stopped and continue to press for more goals, when in previous seasons we would've just been content with the result Everyone's hungry, from staff to players, very good
Guest jjasonuk Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I Agree, Rafa's Valencia team was known as the crushers in Spain, never giving the opponents a second, pressing all over the pitch, fast short passes mixed with accurate long passes. This could easily be Liverpool this season, really great to see.
Guest boom Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 first post from a long time lurker, i think we have depth in our squad that is better than any other team in the prem. we have a really really hungry team, if the same mentality stays throughout the season (hopefully) the league is ours. ps. i am drunk if i dont make sense, dont crufisy me Y N W A. boom. pss. it took mr 20 mins to correct all my spelling mistakes

We are top of the table - CL league table rounds - what more do you want?? Feel sorry for Crouchy really.. That tackle on Benayuon - mcevilly ? - in penalty area before the magnificent Xabi's goal.. was a feckin disgrace..a leg breaker.. straight red don't you agree?
slapnuts Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 title of your favourite song that isn't it? I wish. BOOM! like Ari Gold on Entourage.
Cliff M Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 (edited) That was the most complete team performance I've seen from a Reds team in a long time. And the drive! Even for the last corner when 6-0 up, all the players where up the field and wanting it. Pride! Edited September 3, 2007 by Cliff M
