R A Softlad Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Anyone know if this stadium is seriously under review now that Platini has promised an overhaul of final venues?
Guz Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 No idea about that but maybe they should be casting an eye over Rome the following season as well.
Nerik Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I think that with a 1yr period to get things right, most of the major stadiums can handle it as the organisation needed mostly is when entering the stadium and in the immediate area outside the stadium. It is not too difficult a task in my opinion. The fact that these things were not in place in Athens just shows the incompetence of the UEFA people assigned to check such things.

Gerrardrules Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I think nothing will be changed, except the ticket situation. I heard something about getting your tickets at the stadium after being registered. Haven't got a clue how they will arrange that though.
eskton Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Booked my hotel already You need to be quick, most of them were fully booked when i was searching the other day
Magic8Ball Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Have to be the first to say it, beating Chelsea in the CL final in Moscow would be wonder and a great way to wave bye bye to Abromovitch
dodgy1 Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Anyone know if this stadium is seriously under review now that Platini has promised an overhaul of final venues? Why what is wrong with the stadium in Moscow?
San Diego Red Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Why what is wrong with the stadium in Moscow? It's your forum name.

Aye you're right but come on, let's have a bit of right here. They've been holding European Cup Finals for 52 years now. 52 attempts to get things right and they still fail.
Tetti Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Already had a disaster there, If I remember correctly. Took several years for the whole story to emerge though.I'm not going.
oojason Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Met two sound Milan fans from Moscow on the way back to my hotel in Athens after the Final - got talking and they said it'd be great if both us and Milan made it next year, I replied it'd be great for them as it'd be easy to get to - they replied they wouldn't be going to it if it happened as it'd be 'too dangerous for fans' and would 'lose too much money to the police'. Eeek.

Eeek. It will be an absolute nightmare. I don't care if we make it, not going this time.
Ronnie Whelan Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 66 died according to official figures Fydsipedia The official number of dead was 66, although many people including victims' relatives claim this number to be significantly higher,as many as 340.
Billy Dane Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 see the police there decided to blame the fans as well.
John am Rhein Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Have to be the first to say it, beating Chelsea in the CL final in Moscow would be wonder and a great way to wave bye bye to Abromovitch Especially if he was arrested/assassinated just after the final whistle
fyds Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 (edited) This would be Moscow - so assassinated before, during and after the game - just to be certain 'The Rasputin Solution' in a Ludlum stylee. Edited June 11, 2007 by fyds
R A Softlad Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 I hope the new European shirt is anti-thallium.
BDB Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Not going. are you all mad? Moscow would be great, although I though Red Square will be designated as the official Fifa hangout square. It's been about 20 years since I've been there, and I'd love to go back and see how different it is.

Eeek. a few of my mates went to Moscow when we played there in a champions league group game. As well as police they were relieved of money by a taxi driver. He pretty much pulled over at the side of a motorway and demanded cash
smithdown Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 So there'll be loads of spares judging by this thread. Gerrin!
Gilps Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Went there with Wales. Pit. It's no Newport, that's for sure.
