narrr, I think Allardyce is the better bet. He'll kick them into shape pretty quickly. It's overstated this thing with him and quality of players. He had good players there and worked well with them.

How successful this ends up will depend heavily upon the relationship between fat freddy and the fat head allardyce. An obvious point to make, but the are two quite similar characters from I can see and may have control issues with transfers etc.

I think Newcastle are seriously fecked. They've got a number of players - Owen, Martins, Emre, Luque, who are all talented, but are there solely for the money and/or to get them out of a situation they didn't want to be in.

 

They've also got a lot of schoite, and some older, decentish players.

 

I just don't see how they are going to do it, fat Sam or no.

Completely agree (apart from the fact I think GH shouldn't touch the city job with longest of barge poles.)

 

Love it when the geordies say they don't want GH because they don't like his style of football, yet they will be welcoming alladyce with open arms

 

Alladyce will be sacked within two seasons. He is the same old same old for newcastle as far as I can see. It took him several years to get Bolton loitering around the 6/7 mark, he won't get that time there, they'll be on his back for style of play when he is bottom half at christmas and the slippy slope will start there.

 

Plus, IMO he is unlikely to reproduce his 'success' at a second club. There are many more managers who've had success at one club, made a step up and failed than there are managers who have a long string of successful clubs behind them, specially amongst british managers. Nothing Alladyce has ever done has indicated he has what it takes and he'll go the way of Burley, Rioch, Walter Smith, Royle, Hoddle etc
