Tireless from the pair of them tonight.

Like Carra and Stevie, they reak of passion and die hardness.

Their workrates were phenomenal, even into the dying minutes of extra time. Nobody, not even Stevie seemed to show those fitness levels.

Masch was great, what a signing

great performance by everyone, even JAR was excellent defensively and a good performance by Zenden (this season's smicer ;) )

Masch was brilliant. Any stats on how far he ran? Joe Cole did nearly 12K, Masch must be near 15K.

imagine how he must be feeling right now - he's gone from reserve team football with a shoytehouse team bound for relegation to the European Final in the space of about 3 months.

aye - and three out of four have real class to back it up...I expect Rafa to address that though...onwards and upwards from here

C'mon the mighty reds

Javier Mascherano could turn out to be one of them signings.

To settle as he has, and to play with such class and composure and to have such a possitive influence on our team, all I can say is thank you West Ham Utd for fecin him up and sending him to us.

He's become a key player in such a short amout of time.

he is like alonso and sissoko rolled into one, superb player

hes a different player, and as good as he is, we also need Xabi.

Masche is a better tackler while Xabi is the better passer of the ball.

It's just good to have both in case one has a slump in form like Xabi right now...

I wonder where Sissoko fits in all of this... in any case we have the best CM combo in the WORLD!!!

Masch was a fecking monster tonight.

And most of that was flying through the air or rolling across the ground.

I wouldnt even say he has settled yet. I think there is much more to come from him and cant wait to see him next season.

He and Kuyt worked their b******s off, as did many others. Great dedication throughout the team.

He did brilliantly to not get booked tonight too. His game didn't suffer. He wasn't afraid to get in there. Brilliant.

masch - awesome. can we now stop talking abou the makelele role.

tbf makelele was good, but it was a mascher comingover the hill

Not getting booked was easy, the ref was never going to give him a card.

Joe Cole should have had a certain yellow for the tackle on Stevie, but the ref knew the score and kept the card in his pocket.

every time he slides for a tackle i think hes going to break the other player's leg and get sent off, but he always gets the ball... hes got awesome timing...

How Mascherano managed to have such a superb game throwing in tackle after tackle and not picking up a yellow amazed me. I was hoping he wouldn't get another yellow to keep him out of the final and figured he may calm down a little but he kept sliding right in to all and sundrie.

Kuyt on the other hand ran his bollix off all night and was unlucky not to get a goal. I think next season he will start finding the net more and the combination of that and his work rate will make him one of the best strikers in the league.

We need a song for him

To the tune of White Stripes "7 Nation Army"

Loved it when he dispossessed Lumplard around the centre circle, left Fw*** on his knees, he couldn't do anything other than collapse to the floor.

He's gonna fight 'em all

A seven nation army couldn't hold him back

He signed for Liverpool

To destroy every other teams attacks

And he's running and he's running and he's running and he's won the ball

Javier Mascherano, Javier Mascherano...

I thought he was immense last night. He's my new favourite player. He seemed to love it last night to. Getting the crowd going and that. He's The Chief!
