Lost to Roma, It's going to go to the last day of the season at this rate.

Although i've developed a soft spot for them since i've been here, i would still find it hilarious if they didn't win the league.

Nope Roma back in the hunt. 13 points behind with 6 games left

ah right, so if Inter lose 5 games in a row, and Roma win 5 in a row, we'll have a good finish to a s*** league, gottcha :D

Any normal team would be home and dry, but we're talking about INTER :D

They can always do what they did in 1965, and buy the Ref so the better team couldn't proceed. Always have been, and always will be, a shower of tw4ts

So Juve deserved the championship last year?

they deserved to win it in 65.

so bribing the ref, so they could get the result that took them to face Benfica, against us, that's deserving is it??

Because they had a great team - Facchetti, Corso, Suarez, Mazzola, etc.

All of whom you clearly remember seeing play. You must have seen them as often as you saw Hunt, St John, Yeats, Callaghan and co

They were clearly the better team, and didn't really bribe the ref. You sound like a manc.

No, because they weren't the best team. Keep up, Bandy.

they finished on top, possibly with a little help from the refs.

Just like Inter in 65.

I don't sound like a fvckin Manc. To enlighten you

The inquest broadened. We well knew that another big Italian club in the shape of Internazionale of Milan had been up to similar dirty tricks in the 1960s. It had been an open secret that they had successfully bribed Tesanic, the Yugoslav referee of the Inter-Borussia Dortmund return semifinal of 1964, and that in 1965 had bought Ortis de Mendibil, referee of the equivalent game against Liverpool.

Inter Milan 1965 - I heard for years (actually decades) about how their goal against us was offside. Finally I saw it on a black and white video on Sky about 5 years ago. As far as I could see it was NOT offside. Apparently Lawler had a goal disallowed at Anfield, though, which should have stood. But I've never seen that.

Some great language in that article:

turpitude

finagling

Coincidentally with the debate going on about Solskjaer's disallowed goal this weekend, didn't an Inter player kick the ball out of the keeper's hands and score in that game?

I think it has been universally accepted that the referee was bribed, the ref himself admitted it didn't he?

So I hear.

Did you also hear about Shankly heckling the Inter manager (Helenio Herrera) at the banquet following Celtic's European Cup final win over Internazaionale 2 years later. Jock stein was a great friend of Shankly apparently, which is probably how he got invited to the dinner.

That ball-kicked-out-of-GK's-hand goal is on YouTube

Just watched it now, he needed a shout of 'he's behind you' from our travelling supporters! :) Would have love to have seen Shanks heckling Herrera - that would haved been pretty fierce I reckon!

And Matty, personally I can't take anything away from Inter. Points deductions or not they have been clearly the best team in Serie A this season and deserved their title.
