those late Saturday games would be chaotic in England. imagine all the tanked up nutters showing up for the match.

 

i went to a basketball game a few weeks backs in Omaha that started at 9.15pm.

 

the game had been going about 15 minutes when the local plod arrived to cart off a few idiotic drunks who had clearly been boozing all afternoon and early evening.

 

they stopped all the beer sales at 10pm due to the concern about potential problems. there were some very unhappy people at the Qwest Center that night, fans and beer sellers alike.

 

the next week, the police and city council announced they would instigate new admission rules for the next lat night games at the Qwest Center.
