What are Platini's views on a European elite league? That could be his motivation behind reducing the places from 4 to 3 for the European Cup

He originally wanted to scrap the CL altogether and go back to the old style European Cup, so I don't think a European Super League is high on his agenda.

One of the 'lesser' nations, Finland, have informed that they are going to vote for Johansson...

 

Can't see Platini's suggestion going through this season.

quite. platini winning the vote just brings the likelihood of a single european league a step closer imo, and that can't be allowed to happen.

Firstly, it'll be too late to implement this for next season's CL.

 

Secondly, as the Guardian said last weekend, once Platini is made perfectly aware of where the vast majority of UEFA's cash comes from - UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, he might find himself backing down.

 

And the G14 will just tell him to feck off.

 

Still, I can't stand Johansson, so not complaining too much.

Agreed, they can cut the Prem to 18 clubs and finally you lot will f*** off when your half decent season is a followed by a disastrous one.
