Outstanding today I thought - really got stuck in, defended solidly and distributed the ball exceptionally well. Him and Riise looked good together down the left.

He's shown a few glimpses since coming back from injury but it was nice to see him show what he can really do at last today; hopefully he can stay injury free for a while now and play regularly for the first team...

I've been very critical of him but he played really well today and was far more solid than I was expecting. Was a little worried about the prospect of SWP running at him but he contained that threat very well. His tackling was also excellent.

However I thought Riise was quite sloppy on a few occasions and made some bad choices. Cracking shot though.

his confidence is visibly growing game by game. we are starting to see the real aurelio now, and the way he can interchange with riise ahead of him must be a pain for the opposition. think when all are fit, jar may have a real fight on his hands to make the starting line up.

He was excellent today and should be in the side ahead of Riise. Riise did well in the second half but his inability to do even the most basic thing with his right foot meant missed opportunities today.

Aurelio looks more composed, he's decent with both feet and he can cross a ball.

looked very good today and if he keeps up that sort of form I could see him becoming a regular at LB....very good on the overlap me thinks, something we don't see often enough..

He's clearly a good footballer technically, but the pleasant surprise today was his defending and the number of solid tackles he put in.

I like others had serious concerns about the defensive side of his game, but he showed today that he can defend strongly enough for the English game. I agree totally that Riise (who hasn't been great this season) will have a serious fight on his hands if Aurelio can maintain that kind of form.

They seemed to be switching positions regularly today as well which was good, enabling either to go forward if the opportunity arose.

thought fabio was good today. defended well on a few occasions. Still want to see more though to be convinced that he's cracked it

he's a far better defender than riise.

So am I though

Let's not get carried away just yet, eh? He played very well and showed what he's capable of and really, shall we leave it at that? If he plays that well for two seasons or so, we'll think about the open topped bus ride then shall we?
