That's what I thought. One thing that always puzzled me though is why did he take the penalty against Roma in 84 with his right foot?

Dunno?? He was very confident at the time.

I used to have canary when he took pens. Was never overly clinical at them funnily enough..

Glad you agree. Thought I was going mad when they said he was right footed - these are both lads who have followed the reds for 25 years plus.

Deffo right footed

Not having this. Just looked at 30 of Rushie's goals on the 501 Goals DVD. He scored 16 with his left foot and 14 with his right.

Less sure than I was but I still say he was mainly left footed.

I think the easiest way to spot a player's stronger foot is to look at the way he dribbles. Rush was definitely right footed.

is this 3?

it is!

right footed.

But then you've got the volley away at Villa to complete his hatrick - left foot and the famous goal against Watford at Anfield when Kenny put him through - left foot

Not to mention the equaliser in the same FA Cup Final - left foot.

think first touch is usually the giveaway. most players will subconsciously try to take their first touch with their strongest foot.

Same question used to be asked of Ronnie Whelan, sign of a class player, but Rush was right footed. It was one of Rush's great attributes being able to shoot instantly with either foot none of this farting round getting on to the preferred foot that you see from certain strikers.
