I think our main problem this season is that most of our players now are too good and we don't have enough sh*te players.

Last season when we were WINNING, we had loads of sh*te players in our side. Our good players knew they'd have to play above themselves so as to make up for the cr*p in the side. This summer we signed players who weren't sh*te but who actually have the basic talent required to be a Liverpool player. Our good players took it down a notch as they thought they had quality around them. If they had more cr*p players around them you know that they'd be bursting a gut every match as that's the only way they'd get anything out of the game.

Think about it. We won the CL with Traore in the team. We won the FA Cup last year. We even won the league with David Burrows in the squad.

SiGn Sh*Te pLaYeRs. You know it makes sense.

I think the difference, in all seriousness, was that we had players who just got on with it. Gerrard played right, because he was all we had, and he got on with it. There was no faffing about, no changing the team, no real options. So everyone got on with it, and did their jobs.

Now, there's rotation, changes, competition, and probably a lot of variation in tactics when preparing for games - that, and all the new heads, i think it's thrown us.

Genius. Aren't you.

How dare I criticise the manager.

In Rafa we trust. In Ged we trust. Ho hum.

Peace.

Criticise away - I do all the time, I was doing it in one of the threads you are banging on in, want me to go through it? - but don't talk a load of old rubbish. For instance as you did on Alonso before correcting it to...I just want him to use his remarkable ability. When you dismiss last season's form as being a reason to defend the manager you look like an idiot. It has to be borne in mind. Also don't use specious reasoning - I saw us win leagues and I want us to again - to justify the ramblings.

For God's sake don't pick your nose. I don't think I could handle picturing that in my mind...

I stand by my point on Alonso, he is a frustrating player who has lots of ability (never questioned) but who does not do enough. Thats all there is to it.

As for the point re last seasons form (too late though it was) use it to defend the manager all you like its not helping us any now as we sit 16 pts off the lead already. This seasons form is my concern and its poor. Rambling & specious reasoning? Thanks. You're not so bad yourself.

No I don't suppose you could.

Second para: It's not helping us now, no, but it makes clear how he can put a couple of fantastic runs together and therefore does have what it takes to offer a proper title challenge. To dismiss it outright is the conduct of a lad on a wind up. That he looks to have had a bad summer on transfers is fair comment, that he can't produce title winning form is not. Your complete unwillingness to accept that makes you look soft and makes people simply reject what you are saying because, well, that lad doesn't seem to be able to comprehend how well we did last season.

Alonso you stood by it and then backtracked - "what I meant to say was...". So which one are you standing by? Has Alonso been off form this season? Yes, but he was, for instance, the only one to show any pride and quality against Arsenal but he cannot do it on his own. It's all to easy to pick on an individual player and say...they should be doing more. Arguably only Agger couldn't have that thrown at him this season. And where does the buck stop on that? The manager.

When we won 14 games on the bounce where was your post questioning Alonso and the manager? Or is it only now you feel like voicing these concerns?

OK lets clear this up. On the basis of what I have seen in the league during RB's tenure I do not believe a title is in the offing. Do you, seriously? If you do lets have a wager. Up for it?

Yes we had a great run last year but it stands out against a lot of less-than-shiny runs. As for "where was your post when we won 14 games" well thats just crass & tbh I thought you were more intelligent than that Knox. I don't mean that in a patronising way either.

Why is the reasoning that on evidence of one run that he can win it valid, but suggesting that on the evidence of multiple spells of poor form he won't, specious?

As for Alonso I merely accepted that the word "missing" was inappropriate as it implied he hid or bottled. I didnt mean that. I meant that in games we needed him to stand out & dominate he didn't. Ergo "missing".

As for picking up on Arsenal as some sort of validation for anything well I am speechless. Talk about damning with faint praise.

If the players had the runs more often, they wouldn't be as fat.

It's not a nutritionist we need at the club so much as an incompetent curry chef then. Preferably one using a supplier of dubious old meat.

As long as the players don't see the curry being made we should be ok.
