I think Europe will be beyond us at the moment, a total change on the pitch is what is required before we can even look in that direction.

Even I can't pretend that we were anything other than f***ing woeful last night.

 

We need a proper captain that can lift everyone - Gerrard is a very good player - but he's not a captain - he can't drive people on and lift peoples games.

the premiership table looks a lot better right now...were in the top of the pack, i think 3rd 4th finish is a strong possibility... Finishing 2nd or 1st isnt impossible but its not something we should think of at the moment.

Hope this Wigan performance is the catalyst for a good unbeaten run...

3rd is a very strong possibility. Arsenal have similar problems to us on the road and still have to travel to us and Chelsea.

For all the doom and gloom on here over the past weeks and, up to now, terrible away record we are challenging for a CL spot and Chelsea, Arsenal and the Mancs all have to play at Anfield. Also bear in mind that we have played all the so-called "killer" away games. It can only get better.

 

Reina is brilliant. Gerrard is finding his form slowly but surely and Bellamy can now concentrate on what he does best. We played some very good football on Saturday. Where are the pessimists now?
