SkippyjonJones Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 To stop the board being flooded with new threads. Thank you.
windy city red Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 1) think we need garcia back. 2) that pr!ck in the game thread who said we should sell the entire team needs to go support another team. 3) team morale is abysmal.
McBain Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Pennant and Gonzalez are the worst widemen i've ever seen. I'm going out and getting leathered
muleskinner Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 We need a left sided midfielder nearly as much as we need investment.
madaboutlfc Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 f*** off pennant.. you waste of space..
Jim D Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 What can you say? Boro were s****, but we weren't much better. Totally toothless in the final third. Dominated possession, dominated corner kicks, but our final ball and crossing was rubbish. Words to describe the performance? Diabolical?Painful?Awful?
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Disappointed but there was a day when 0-0 at the Riverside was a decent result. We dominated but just didn't get the goal. We never get a f***ing result at Boro it's so frustrating.
CaptainXabi Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 We need a left sided midfielder nearly as much as we need investment.I'm sorry, you're worried about Gonzalez when there's Pennant to worry about? Gonzalez at least tried to do something, and was good in the first half. Pennant just waltzes around in his ridiculous white boots getting knocked over every time there is a cough in the crowd.
Guest BrianF Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 (edited) Thought we played alright against a good, well organised, ultra defensive side. We are just lacking quality on the flanks. Would love Steve Finnan to get forward with a bit of urgency every now and again. He has this annoying habit of turning back onto his left foot and the move stops. Edited November 18, 2006 by BrianF
Gomez Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Mental Strength cost us today. We never believed we could break them down, and the players we bought in the summer to do exactly that, Pennant, Bellamy and Gonzalez failed to produce. Gonzalez impressed the first half and worked hard in the second, but it was ultimately unproductive and never looked like being anything else. Pennant was just sh*te. Boro weren't sh*te like most people will say, just very very negative. I'd be ashamed if my team, at any level, played like that at home, but I suppose they'll say anything else and they would have lost.
redjersey Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 (edited) Gerrard was as ineffectual in the middle as he has been on the right. Edit: Sion beat me to it. Edited November 18, 2006 by Redjersey
JonShar Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 If you're knocking Gonzalez you didn't see the game, he was man of the match. Not a lot of end product, but he got past his man several times and looked good. Once he did start getting some crosses in he got taken off, makes no sense. Gerrard was shyte, and worse he didn't look up for it. Anytime we'd lose possession he slumped his shoulders and stopped running...not a great example.
Chili Palmer Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I got depressed everytime we won a corner, our crossing is so bad its unbelievable.
jfogarty Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Thought we played alright against a good, well organised, ultra defensive side. We are just lacking quality on the flanks. Bar Woodgate there is nothing good to Boro. They are s*** and that is why they might get relegated.
Hassony Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Pennant is really hopeless, Gonzales is not that great but at least he gets involved on either flanks he played, but pennant is just utter s****
Benitez Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Said before that I'd take a draw, such is my lack of belief in this team away from home. So I can't complain too much, well, I can We dominated the game against a terrible terrible team. BUT, and its a huge BUT, the quality of balls into the area is fecin awful! From open play and set pieces it was crap. What is going on there. And it's not just one player, it's every one. Riise, Gonzalez, Pennant, Finnan, Gerrard, all of em where rubbish. Terrible lack of quality. In the whole 90, despite dominating possesion and getting into good crossing areas, we only put in 2 or 3 balls of any decent quality. The lack of belief was there for all to see, but that doesn't excuse such poor quality in basic aspects of the game.
Guest BrianF Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 (edited) Bar Woodgate there is nothing good to Boro. They are s*** and that is why they might get relegated. True. I didn't man to say good actually. Woeful, more like. Defended well though We really need to look at bringing young Anderson or Hammill through, as at the moment he couldn't do any worse than Pennant, and might show a bit more effort. Gonzalez was good 1st half, but shocking 2nd half, the boy can't cross his legs, Pennent was shockingly bad the whole game, Gerrard is playing with no heart.
Guest Kev Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 More pissed off with this than last week, Kuyt and Bellamy couldn't control their piss, Pennant and Gonzalez couldn't cross the road. Crouch was the only danger. Alonso was great but turned into Ian Callaghan. No urgency, no fight, no nothing.
Hassony Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 why was the commentator slamming Pepe at every oppurtunity, a great save to keep us in the game and didn't do much wrong otherwise, but somehow it was his fault that agger didn't control a ball at the half way line!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CaptainXabi Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 We really need to look at bringing young Anderson or Hammill through, as at the moment he couldn't do any worse than Pennant, and might show a bit more effort.Exactly.
