Not the first time we've been linked with him. However if Birmingham want to cash in we're a good name to throw into the pot if they want to boost interest and price.

 

He's aerially strong and could make a partnership with Carragher, but he's also terribly injury prone. Does 4m represent value for a player with such a record of persistent injury?

 

If we signed him what would that signal concerning Agger? Perhaps he's not an ideal partner for Carragher, he doesn't replace Sammi's aerial dominance. From what I've seen of him though I'd be disappointed if he's frozen out.

If there's any truth to it, he'll be more of a competition for Carra as Paletta's still too raw to make the step up. By doing so, he'll also be Sami's replacement as his aerial prowess complements Agger's strengths.

We were linked to him at one point but I would be very surprised if we did decide to go for him in fact I'd be shocked ,its not like Birmingham would sell him cheap ,he's injury prone ,he's no youngster and his contract is running down . You would have to say 4 million is way too much.

 

hopefully its a case of birmingham desperate to sell rather us desperate to buy him thats prompting all of this. Newcastle will probs come in for him and what better way than telling them we are interested in him?

I'd be surprised. CB is not a high priority, and he would almost certainly be behind Sami, JC and Agger in the pecking order, which would inhibit the progress of the younger Paletta.

 

A few years ago, it would have been credible, but now it just sounds like Brum trying to offload.

 

£4m as well? It's far too much, he's not a kid with potential anymore and another case of English tax.
