Absolutely outstanding performance from Momo tonight, no-one got past him at all and he just went round clatterin people and walking away with the ball.

MOMO IS BOSS :D

Seemed to give away loads of passes early on, but immense second half, love him.

I don't recall one stray pass in the first 15 minutes and he had alot of the ball.

Forgotten the one straight out of play?

He had a good game tonight and I thought was unlucky to get booked. Was that his second in the competition?

Yeah I remember it alright. Two players misreading eachother and it went out for a throw. No big deal. In a couple of years if he's passing like Maradona people will still be banding it about like a mantra. He miss passed around the same as everyother player on the park.

I agree, no big deal. I think his passing has improved this season and he finds his player much more often than not, often in very tight positions. His passing has never been as bad as has often been made out and it improving all the time and the other attributes he brings to the team makes him hell of a player.....and he's only 21! He's one of our two or three most important players, hopefully for many years to come.

Thank f*ck the bluesh*te never got him!

I can't believe other teams were not in for him. Really strange. I guess he didn't get that much action for Valencia. I agree with you his passing is getting tighter. Thing is he's 21 playing for a huge club like Liverpool in the middle of the park. Even if his passing was top quality you could easily see how nerves could get the better of him but he's a cool customer.

Loads of times tonight I thought his little touches and layoffs were really excellent and he kept things ticking over really well. I think he's already getting better.

One thing I noticed when SteG went back to centre midfield was how he never passed to Momo. I dunno was it cos he was so intent on spraying it around the park but Momo was in good positions on many occasions for passes. Could it be a conscious thing or an instruction he's under but sometimes the simple option to Momo is often the right option

he did a good job of spraying it around though.

Momo kept possesion well today which is the most important for him. never gonna astonish anyone with incisive passing though.

Interesting that stevie took up the holding role when fowler came on. Momo actually seemed more attacking then than anytime before in the match.

Pity the volley wasn't quite wide enough of the keeper. He has to surely get a goal soon... Apart from the occasional disastrous effort he has come v close to scoring on loads of occasions and especially on European nights

I had a couple of quid on him for last goalscorer at 33-1 and for a brief second thought that was going in. I can see him getting one soon.

I pretty much agree with this. One thing people don't acknowledge or realise about Momo is he often passes the ball first time - the positive to this is he raises the tempo of our game. The negative is that misplaces a simple pass once or twice a game, usually by overhitting it. He will only improve with experience, as has already happened. But I will take the occasional misplaced pass rather than him losing any of his dynamism in the middle of the park.

I think so but nothing was mentioned by the commentary last night that he'd miss the next game (or by the caption that came up when he was booked) and they're usually up on those type of things if nothing else!

Do you not need to get booked 3 times to miss a game? If so I would send him out against PSV with the instructions to get booked and miss the galatasery game.

Come to think of it I would send him out to play his natural game as he will get booked anyway!

Perhaps it was over-exuberance, but I thought he was rubbish for the first 15/20 minutes, but after that settled that into a good performance.

I thought he was very good second half after a slightly sloppy first half. but I dont buy all this 'unlucky' or 'harshly treated by refs' talk re his bookings. His yellow last might came after what was about his 6th foul. He deserves most he gets.

I wouldn't ever want him to stop tackling like that though. We're just gonna have to get used to the suspensions

I spent the whole match (watched on TV) mumbling "Momo's gonna get you" the Missus and my (Manc) mate were complaining "what are you saying?"

They saw the light after a while.

Legend in the making.

that was a ridiculous booking though and it has to be worked on.

he was nowhere near his man, realised he wasn't so went straight through the back of him.

european refs know that one, its a yellow card everytime and an easy decision for them to make.
