I have to say that I really like how Kuyt and Crouch look up front. They are clearly our best two up front in my book.

But, I love how Robbie looked the other day also. He really needs to be playing more.

Bellamy is fast, is aggressive, but I it looks like he just isn't needed right now.

I'd be really happy with DK, PC and RF up front right now, and I think we'd get more goals and we wouldn't have to deal with a discontented Robbie.

We need someone with a bit of pace up front just to have that option in case it isn't working out for the others.

So yes we need him.

Come on give him a chance eh.

quite!

remeber people calling crouch all sorts of names last season during his goal drought, he's not good enough, he's this that, bla bla. We have signed goal scorers this season, and they will score goals.

Of course we do. It is good that he is not missed at the moment because it means the other 3 lads are playing well, but as others have mentioned we need 4 strikers and also strikers who offer something different to the others.

I'm a big fan of Bellamy and think he & Kuyt are the future. Also, I'm far from a fan of Crouch but he's the man in form, the one who's scoring, the one the luck is with.

Right now it's gotta Kuyt & Crouch on that teamsheet week in week out.

Kuyt and Crouch is a good partnership in the making at home imo, particularly looking at how succesful Morientes and Crouch turned out to be (results, not individual goals).

Away from home we need more pace upfront when we sit deeper.

We were crying out for pace all last season because there were occasions when a little bit of speed (with football intelligence) up front would have helped changed matches.

someone is doing it again.

we win 1 game, 2 strikers score and look good and suddenly we don't need one of our players.

Kuyt and Crouch will look really good when they do it for a run of games and against top flight opposition on a regular basis.

in short, yes, we need Bellamy as an option.

We were desperate for a quick striker who could fit into Rafa's style of play and stretch defences. Whether Bellamy was the right choice i'm not sure, but he needs more time yet to prove himself.

He also hasn't as yet played in a Liverpool side where the midfield was working and supplying him properly

Two excellent points.

In some games, yes

But pace upfront's overrated. Since when did we even exploit that pace advantage once this season when Bellamy's been upfront?

Kuyt and Crouch gives us more possibilities and they're more "Rafa type forwards/strikers" which would fit into his system better.

At home I agree. But away from home, such as the Derby, we need to be able to push defences back by having a quick player upfront. Everton were able to defend high up the pitch against us and it was one of the main reasons why they had so much joy

Actually quite a few teams do defend high against us, just seems to be one of the things they think would work against us

We need to learn how to find Bellamy, we just don't have the players who can make that pass to find him atm. Can't remember we released him with a good throughball that many times this season. It's useless to have pace unless our midfielders can find them

EDIT: Although away from home Peter Crouch would be hell lot more crucial to us than Bellamy would, he holds the ball up in the opposition half and keeps the ball for us there. Something we're incapable of doing this season in away games.

Yes we do. As for the point re Fowler, then my view is that we should have 2 forwards on the bench if all 4 are fit.
