Our only player that truly scares defenders is Gerrard, no one else can take the ball and dribble it past defenders and make something out of nothing.

Attempts on goal was 3-17 in our favor. Had Alonso's shot went in via the post and the ref hadn't given them the 1st goal it would easily have been 0-2 instead.

Bolton haven't conceded a goal at home for 8 hrs...YOU should watch the game again

Finnan - 3 Started badly and seemed to lose all confidence after that

Riise - 5 Didn't do much wrong, or much right

Alonso - 3 Seems incapable of passing it 10 yards at the moment

Gerrard - 4 In his run of worst form since about 4 years ago

Pennant - 3 Based on today alone he wouldn't get in Brums championship side

Sissoko - 3 Worked hard as always but his passing was even worse than usual

Kuyt - 5 Tried hard but had little to work on

Bellamy - 5 Even if he ever manages to get a chance to score I doubt he'd take it. Looks totally out of sorts. He wont be back in form till I get him out of my ff team

We're two different teams. One at home and one away. Just like 2 seasons back. And unless we sort it then 58 points might be all we get again

And how many of those 17 shots were hopeful hits from outside the box? Only Alonso with 2 of his efforts barely troubled the keeper. We were utterly hopeless..

His passing radar went completely in the last 10 minutes but he before that I didn't think he was bad. That's not to say he was great but he wasn't helped by precious little intelligent movement ahead of him. I'm hoping that his, Gerrard's and Carragher's below-par form is down to World-Cup fatigue.

 

The lack of goal-threat from Bellamy is the thing that is worrying me, as he is going to be crucial to our away form. The next two away games are at Utd and Arsenal.....

Bizarre. Until the last 5 minutes when his legs went I thought he was our best player. If he couldn't pass it 10 yards, and most of our play went through him, how come we dominated possession?

We dominated possesion but we did little with it. All the players were guilty of bad executions and bad decisions on the ball. It's only because Bolton are a pub team masquerading as a Premiership side that it kept coming back to us

 

He's my favourite player in the team and expectations are maybe unfairly high, but he's nowewhere near the player he was and hasn't been all season.

Alonso was s*** today. Worst game Ive seen him play, ever. And I have to be honest about Zenden. What the f*** was Rafa thinking when Zenden took Momo's place in the centre, instead of Gerrard going in the middle for Zenden heading out to play left winger? I don't think Boudewijn Zenden is good enough to play for Liverpool atm.

Still don't understand how Gerrard gets such high ratings. He is our fecking leader and he went missing in the 2nd half. Some are criticising Alonso but he was the one trying to get moves going and he had a few minutes in the 2nd half where he struggled to find his target...If Gerrard took on half the responsibility Alonso seems to take on we would be making more clean cut chances as Gerrard is the player than can penetrate teams.

Agree with all that. Thought Momo was bloody last today. Just being able to run a lot isn't acceptable, possession needed to be retained and it was remarkably frustrating to see wrong decisions and easy concessions made time and again. Up front we need to go Kuyt/Crouch as soon as possible.

Totally agree.

Gerrard goes missing, but you always see Alonso mopping up, closing down and trying to shift the ball to make us tick. He misses some passes, but he runs his feet into the ground all the time.

As for the Gala game, Alonso was left so alone in the centre that it was criminal. It was easy to see why Rafa plays Gerrard on the flank. He lacks dicipline and needs 2 people covering for him.
