I know who really doesn't like Bellamy's continual whinging at the ref...

Did anybody the little exchange between Kuyt and Bellamy?

Bellamy had been muscled off the ball - fairly IMO - but started with the whinging at the ref. Kuyt basically signalled to him to cut the cr*ap and start chasing the ball...which he did. Very interesting and seemed to establish the pecking order between the two of them immediately.

I really hope Bellamy is still young enough to be able to cut out this aspect of his play because, frankly, its embarrassing. Somehow I doubt it because whinging seems to be part of his nature but with Kuyt's help, you never know......

Yeah he whinges and will run into trouble sooner or later. As long as he keeps playing well it will be forgiven. Excellent finish from Kuyt's pass yesterday. Pity it was disallowed.

I thought it was funny. After one the poor offside decisions, it cut to Bellamy telling the ref to 'keep an eye on him' meaning the linesman.

Who is it embarrasing to?

I hope he never changes - I love that about him.

Atleast it shows he cares. And one day it'll pay off, and if it gets us an important goal, who are we to be critisising it?

Me too. You take that side of his game away and he'll be less of a player.

I've posted this about him before, Belllamy often does waste energy chasing the ref instead of the ball, but he always has done, and is always chasing one or the other. IF he can change a bit, all the better, itl makes us so hard to play against if we have two wasps up front pressing the ball all the time.

I said on TLW that I like his aggression but for it to be of benefit he needs to focus it. There was one time, down the Centenary in the second half, if he'd not been moaning he could've kept the move going.

That finish from Kuyt's little through ball was brilliant and taking away any attitude would diminish his game. I love that part of his make-up, and wish Michael Owen was as instinctive a finisher and had his attitude at times.

To be fair there was a lot of borderline/dodgy decisions yesterday and the officials were poor. I lost my rag a few times with them too.

Kuyt was constantly pointing to others where they should be etc. Looked confident enough in himself to come in and start giving orders.

Frankly, he looks a pratt ....but from a purely LFC perspective, it's a waste of energy which he should be using chasing back...and it seems that Kuyt thinks the same.

On numerous occasions in the past few years, Liverpool players have been involved in arguments with opposing players, and it seemed our players stood away from the handbags, seeming not wanting to get involved in backing up their team-mate. One example being Didi, having an altercation in the Carling cup final with the Russians, about 3-4 of that lot, and only Luis seemingly wanting to get involved, whilst other noted players stood off.

With Bellamy, you?re not going to see him back off defending a team-mate, because off his passion, so I can't see a problem with him moaning, because I have no doubt, that some time in the season, you?re going to be backing him up for defending a team-mate.

I like the tactic of pressurising linesmen and referees - make sure they know they're gonna get a hard time over every close decision and it might just mean they let one go. Unlikely perhaps, but just that small chance makes it worth it.

Has worked for Manu, Arsenal and Chelsea in recent years. Partly the reason Wimbledon stayed up for so long as well I think.

I didn't have a problem with his moaning yesterday because most of the time he had a point, he was onside for the disallowed goal (no daylight) and there were a couple of incidents where he was blocked off and pushed over that should have been free-kicks.

I thought Wiley gave us very little yesterday and that was one of the reasons West Ham were able to get back into the game, it cut off our momentun several times.

i think every team should have a player who complains about decisions, rightly or wrongly,as RP said, it keeps them on their toes and just might influence one our way, you can't have a whole team of them as you just come across like, em, like...Chelsea!

like bellamy needs a reason

I think the moaning is great and will continue to do so until he gets himself booked for it.

I think refs are starting to treat him like our lads were after the Community Shield. Wasn't he moaning away about having champagne poured over him and the lads just broke their s**** laughing at him and that made him laugh too. The refs all know what he's like at this stage, they just don't take him seriously.

that's what I think; he just may get one which he otherwise wouldn't. I don't mind him whinging & I suspect the refs don't either as long as it's done in a certain way. To bitch & moan is ok as long as you don't overstep the mark - which he invariable will from time-time.

Funny, but we were talking about the new signings at HT yesterday & from someone I despised 2 years ago, Bellamy is my favourite of our summer's signings
