looked to be a great prospect at leeds but now im not impressed at all. seems to have very little composure, comes too far out, makes too many errors and most worryingly doesn't seem to have any ability of command the defence.

 

he's certainly not second choice - maybe a very distant third. i think we might need to find another and get rid imo

If this criticism is based on one pre-season game can I remind you that he was with the England WC squad and so has only just started training - perhaps he needs time to get into the swing of things? If it is based on competitive matches he has played for Liverpool then you are just being stupid - he has had very few games to show what he can do.

Still, a poor pre-season game (assuming he was at fault for all five goals, unlike spk I was unable to view the German channel it was shown on) is more than enough to pass judgement. Get rid and bring back Kirkland

There have a been a lot of players not really up to scratch pre season. I'm sure the hard work in trining will reap longer term rewards.

 

The bit I've seen of Carson he's done OK. We'll never know how good he is until he has a run of games for us, and that might be his undoing, given Pepe is so young himself.

He has never really impressed me besides a couple of saves againts Juve in his first season, and we all know what he did in that match after those saves.

We are in trouble. Carson is crap. So is Dudek. Reina flaps a lot. Josh Mimms and the young Danish Keeper are too young and probably turn out to be s****.

We should sign Cudicini. Else we will be relegated.

 

Give him a break, lad. He has shown lots of potential at Leeds and Sheffield Wed and also for the stiffs. Let him have a couple of long runs in the side, and then we can re-asses the situation.

 

Ya know, sometimes the keeper is more confident when the defense in front of him is stable i.e. he knows what they do during certain situations. It only comes with experience. dont think a one-off preseason game with no meaning in it is right to judge a player, especially a goalie.

 

I feel a bit sad for him because Reina is only 23. But, im sure he'll get a decent run in the side once in a while.

I am more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but in the last match from the highlights I saw he was coming off his line way too much and didnt have a presence at all.

 

Praps he didnt have confidence in the back 4 or praps he was trying to do a Pepe in midfield but not something we should be too worried about

Carson is an excellent keeper who like all keepers is prone to the odd lapse here and there.

 

I prefer to remember the Carson against Juventus at home, at fault for their goal but saved loads and kept us in the tie.

 

He's young, he'll get better, and poor keepers don't go to the World Cup.

I feel sorry for Scott. He's only gonna get a handful of 1st team run outs every season, unless something happens to Pepe.
