smithdown Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Totally Frank makes me want to throw up Indeed. What a c*nt. Maybe there will be a chapter on all the sh*te shots he had and passes that went astray while swanning around the edge of the box, course that was all sven's fault cos he didn't organise ball skills training for the second best player on the planet.
berdoing Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Can't see a problem in them airing their views. Let's wait to read what they say before passing judgement, eh?
McBain Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I'd have less respect for them if they just kept quiet and didn't tell the truth Sven doesn't deserve any respect so why would they give it him
SteveT Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 (edited) I'd have less respect for them if they just kept quiet and didn't tell the truth Sven doesn't deserve any respect so why would they give it him I'd definitely have more respect for them if they'd have done it before the tournament rather than uisng their criticism as a way of excusing their own poor performances. Ballack was man enough to make criticisms of Klinsmann's approach and tactics in April or May after they lost 4-1 to Italy in a friendly and that doesn't seem to have done the Germans' cause any great harm. Maybe England's players are as spineless off the pitch as they were on it. Edited July 9, 2006 by SteveT
Des Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Shaun Custis C*nt. That is all. I'd have less respect for them if they just kept quiet and didn't tell the truth Sven doesn't deserve any respect so why would they give it him Despite Eriksson's feck ups with tactics and selection, the performances of those players don't deserve respect either. Are they totally blameless?
Ombudsam Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I don't think you can actually attach any blame for our WC exit on anyone english
Andy @ Allerton Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 What a f***ing circus. England players 'communicating' their true feelings via autobiographies when most of them - Rooney particularly - havent achieved anough to write on the back of a napkin. The currrent England team is a joke. It was said on here a long time ago and has only been proved right over the duration of this latest shambolic episode. Golden generation :-D Now come on now - the lads HAS won a LEAGUE CUP Muwahahahaha
kacangpool Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 fecking judas all, all this after sven selecting them despite their form. that's not taking away that sven's a c***, they do deserve each other.
Andy @ Allerton Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 fecking judas all, all this after sven selecting them despite their form. that's not taking away that sven's a c***, they do deserve each other. TO be honest - it was clear that Sven hasn't even the slightest clue technically. How he became a manager of any time is beyond me - not to mention the money he was paid. Half the time people just seem to take their mates on - or failing that taking someone on that they've read about once or twice in the paper. I mean McLaren?! Ha ha ha
kacangpool Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I mean McLaren?! Ha ha ha So its more of the same.
McBain Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 C*nt. That is all.Despite Eriksson's feck ups with tactics and selection, the performances of those players don't deserve respect either. Are they totally blameless? Not at all. they should point the finger at themselves just as much. But that's a lot to ask for obviously But any player that says Eriksson f*cked up and got it totally wrong is still telliing the truth which is better than staying quiet
Dublinred4ever Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Spineless There were enough senior players with clout in that squad to rebel against a lame duck manager and organise themselves if they felt the manager was doing nothing. They've lost their chance now and are crying over spilt milk
kacangpool Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 So McLaren has something to look forward to if he also fails. Which is more than likely.
smithdown Posted July 9, 2006 Author Posted July 9, 2006 I'd have less respect for them if they just kept quiet and didn't tell the truth Fair point, but its unlikely they will criticise McLaren's part in the proceedings so will be just enough 'truth' to absolve themselves of any blame for their own crap performances.
floyd Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 So McLaren has something to look forward to if he also fails. Which is more than likely. If he does bring in El Tel, and starts to falter, Tel's freinds in the media, will make sure McLaren is elbowed out of the way, for El Tel to take over.
Gilps Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I don't think you can actually attach any blame for our WC exit on anyone english Don't be daft Sam. Yes the injuries were unfortunate, the squad selection was flawed, the team selection often worse and the tactics non existent. But you can't entirely excuse the players. Several of tem whilst playing in their best positions massively underperformed and one petulant little t*** got himself sent of for stamping on an opponent's b******s. Excusin the entire coaching staff bar Eriksson and Grip isn't really on either. We'll soon see when things don't get noticably better under MacClaren.

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Sven isn't blameless by a long way, it's the backstabbing I hate. The players are far from blameless themselves. On a number of occassions Gerrard (seemed to) break ranks & go it alone, popping up on the left or wherever; things improved with him like that. It just seems that had England won the WC, the players would have taken the adulation; not win it & stab the manager in the back & blame anyone but themselves. If there's a problem, let it out at the time.
Guest Cardie Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 (edited) If they'd had the bottle to speak out when he was still manager then fair enough but don't be all snidey about it now he can't say or do anything about it. Edited July 9, 2006 by Cardie
realtarragona Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 All that article's doing is criticising the players for what they're rumoured to think or thought about Sven when he was manager. Only Owen has criticised him openly from what I can see and saying that you won't get the best out of Rooney playing him upfront on his own is stating the obvious really.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I wasn't surprised to see Owen blaming everyone but himself again.
Hassony Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I wasn't surprised to see Owen blaming everyone but himself again.to be fair to own he didn't blame sven for his performances, but he was talking about how rooney suffered playing on his own
Benzo-13 Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I wasn't surprised to see Owen blaming everyone but himself again. His lack of class lately shows how bad he's being advised..
Guz Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I wasn't surprised to see Owen blaming everyone but himself again. He later said something like "A lot of players in the squad, me included, do not play as well for england as we may do for our clubs". I was pissed off to hear yet another person blaming Rooney's hot headed behaviour on the fact that he had to play upfront on his own though. Total rubbish.
