How is the poor guy doing, can't see him making much more of an impact if Gonzales gets his work permit and Kewell hitting form

I think he'll stay at least until january. After all Kewell is very injuryprone and Gonzalez haven't played single minute in England yet. There's always a risk, that he won't adapt to english football. But if Zenden isn't getting any playing time and Kewell is staying fit, i think he'll f*** off in January.

He isn't gonna be playing on the left, he'll play in the center and fill in around the place.

I don't think he will play at centre midfield that much either. Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko and hopefully Zapater are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Zapatar? Who he?

If we play three in the middle he'll get a few games. You can't play Gerrard, Alonso & Sissoko 60 games in a row.

Zenden will stay I think. He was doing OK when he got injured. He can fill in centrally and with Didi likely to leave he will get more chance to do so.

Just because he gets injured a lot, doesn't make him injury prone

And how many Gonzalez are we signing?

Unfortunately, Harry's persistent groin problems do suggest that he is injury prone :(

But under the Owen ruling, being injured a lot doesn't make someone injury prone ;)

Alonso - Gerrard - Garcia - Riise - Gonzalez - Kewell - Sissoko - Zenden - Aurelio

Three of those (Zendenm Riise and Aurelio) can play left back or left mid or even the old wing-half. Zenden, Gerrard, Alonso and Sissoko can all play effective centre mid, or old inside forward roles. Kewell can play either wing, as can Gonzalez or Zenden. Zenden, Kewell and Garcia are also capable of playing as a striker - in the hole, or alongside Crouch (as it stands currently).

Take an average of being without any two of them at any give time over the season due to injury or suspension and divide over about 60 games across 6-7 positions and there are enough games to give everyone a go, rotate and rest.

I was informed by a friend of some players weeks ago that Zenden would be leaving this summer along with Cisse, Traore and Morientes.

I should be over the moon, dancing round the office estatic - but to pay 16 million € PLUS Zenden, Dudek and Barragán seems a bit too much even for me

Give that package to Sevilla for Alves ;)

Who are we offering it for then? :hooked:

According to everyone in Sevilla (the city) Joaquin

Cheers Fig - just popped over to the transfer thread and read your update.

Look forward to the outcome of your meeting...

Do you think it`s still possible with a deal for Alves, Figaro?

I think Del Nido thinks we'll just pay whatever he wants for Alves because we want him badly enough.

He of the nest would have his eye wiped if we told him to stick it and signed Joaquin instead, leaving him with two right-backs, one of whom didn't want to be there...

Yes - until Alves or his agent publically admit he's staying at Sevilla CF.
