Can't say I agree with your definition of what constitutes on and off-field activities, but never mind. If Pennant had contributed on the pitch, his off-field shenanigans would have been swept under the carpet, you can be sure of that. It's the fact he's been ineffective on the pitch that means he's off. As an aside, just checked some stats. In his 10 or so years as a professional footballer he's scored 13 goals. How rubbish is that?

That statement is nothing like obvious. His exit from Liverpool has everything to do with his footballing ability.

Nothing to do with the money. I would have thought people have a problem signing Heskey because they believe that playing him in the team would actually be detrimental to our title challenge. Which is certainly a line of thought I'd give some consideration to.

It was clueless. No concept of what to show or how to show it. Looked as if they'd pre-selected the main games they were going to show before they'd been played and stuck with that whatever. You'd have thought with a 90min allocation they'd have been able to show a fair bit of the action, but seemingly not.

Wenger won't get sacked, but he is becoming a tedious fecker. His whinge about Aston Villa having a word with the referee at half-time (simply to clarify why he didn't give a foul in the build up to the goal) and therefore ensuring that every decision went in their favour in the second half was ludicrous. Especially considering the Gallas penalty was clear-cut - no controversy to it at all. Arsenal were fortunate yesterday - there was a 3 to 4 goal whopping on the cards which they somehow managed to avoid. They've got a decent run of fixtures now though, so we'll see in the next month or two whether they're dead and buried for this season.
