I was laughing at the ref's incompetence when he didn't give it. However, when they finally showed it from the other angle, about the 4th or 5th replay, it's clear he's pulled his leg back before the lad had chance to dive over it. Nailed on pen from any camera angle at the Kop end , clear dive if viewed from a camera looking towards the Kop (ie same view as ref).

Agree on the formation switch for this one, but one of those 3 CM's needs replacing with a more forward thinking player. Coutinho can play on the edge instead of the tip.

Agree with this. Can and Sakho were excellent, and yet we were poor at the back. Kolo was shocking, the wingbacks were pushed right back by Arsenal's positivity, and neither are at their best defending. The strange bit for me was then playing 3 CM's, none of whom are particularly attacking. This was changed quite early with the Hendo/Lazar switch, and was understandable, no matter how wasted Hendo is at WB. At our best last season we had 4 attack minded players, for most of this season it's been 3, and we started today with 2. The first 15 minutes was predictable, we improved, but if we are going to play with wing backs, we need to make sure we have players who can excel there, and also avoid playing 3 defensive minded CM's.

It's a s*** idea obviously, but we wouldn't be losing him for free in Summer 2016, not even Ayre could f*** up that badly.
