if riise was on top of his game he would struggle to hold down a place ahead of either aurelio or arbeloa. A few posters think he played well today, imo he did ok at best. Once again there were a number of occasions were his decision making going forward was very poor and the 50 yard shot when babel was in oceans of space was a particularly bad example. Whereas a few years ago Riise looked like a decent player, these days the standard of the squad has moved on to such a point that his absence of a good first touch and poor decision making marks him out as one of the most obvious candidates for replacement.

I always thought his way of handling the press was just his way of playing the game and never took him seriously up until the reading game last year when cech was injured. His outbust against the emergency services, which were later shown to be lies, made me sick. He's a man who in order to score a cheap point is prepared to publicly humiliate the hard working men and women who put their hands in their pockets for sky subscriptions, match ticket, replica kits which all contribute to him being mega wealthy. No word of an apology when he was later proven to be wrong, his lack of ethics mean he is not the man I want as the figurehead of the club despite his achievements.

have to disagree, the real pity is that we might lose the best manager we've had in nearly 20 years because of a spat. Thats a much bigger deal than a good performance going un-noticed.
