I've always thought we should have bought two wide players in this window. I know Marveaux would probably have been the second one (and he chose the Geordies) but having two wingers would give us more options (and help Carroll) plus one can cover the other if one of them was out with injury. At the moment if Downing gets injured we have no cover for him, unless Sterling gets some playing time (and I don't think Kenny's ready to start him in the league).

Noticed this against Stoke as well. He doesn't stay wide which means we can't stretch the play. It's not helping Carroll if Downing keeps coming into the centre of midfield.

It's very good. I like the fact that you all discuss what's been going at our rivals as well as at LFC. Good stuff.

If Capello has said that he can f*** right off. Put your own house in order before talking about a club's training regime. I think the worry of having them in the midfield together is that the centre midfield would lack creativity because their game is quite similar.

He thought he could get through this season with what he had in the squad even if those guys left. The game against the Mancs changed his thinking.
