He has my complete sympathy - I once had them they are very painful and entry for their removal is via the snakes eye May after the operation he should take a few weeks rest it is very painful
-
Who paid a fortune for him when other parts of the team needed quality replacements
-
Before Babel should get an extended run he first needs to visit the wizard of Oz - he pulls out of far too many 50-50 or even 70-30 (in his favour). Not the bravest forward we have had.
-
I object to those remarks - it was just my backside was bigger than yours. But back on topic - I believe we should adopt the Rafa/Keane approach to booing. Boo all the players before and during the game and ignore them at the end - they dont need encouragement just indifference and the expectation they do as they are told or they keep the bench warm
-
so long as I have one all's well with the world
-
booing the team before or during the match is never acceptable but after if they have played poorly is a different matter
-
0-0 at home against Stoke, Fulham and West Ham together with 2- 2 against Hull is not inspiring, and we where lucky to beat Wigan 3-2

It does you and Galileo are correct and by implication it doesn't shine out of Rafa's backside. Also collective wisdom doest always mean its correct. Rafa screwed up on Saturday and only the very biased would argue otherwise. We are also dropping too many points at home to 'lesser' teams the same fault as last year. We are still not entertaining and lack creativity with a few exceptions. and this after over 4 years and nearly £150m on new players (I know not net cost before you use that argument). So I will continue to reserve judgement on our manager even if goes against the 'collective wisdom' of the majority of our fans (but not all)

If we were to make one signing in January who would you go for?

The same place Rafa anticipated Keane would play, but as Owen and now Torres have injury problems good chance both won't always be fit at the same time. Michael is a natural finisher and would definitely score a fair share of goals and he gives us great options when dealing with blanket defences, he is exceptional in the box looking for half chances. -
For the record - never made that point - I have no idea why Rafa didn't use Keane at some stage on Saturday especially after a really good second half in mid week. Also I do stand by the other two comments and time will tell - I hope I am wrong but don't think so and that doesn't make you a t*** - so less abuse please Football is also a game about opinions and I don't suppose you have held opinions contrary to the collective wisdom.

No but what does it do to a players confidence when we are chasing the game and Rafa brings on Lucas instead of Keane - Be honest did anyone in the ground at the time understand that move. Say's more about not losing than winning to me
-
Does he?? - I wonder what he says in a few years time when Rafa not his boss I will reserve judgement on Gerrards faith in Rafa as I do not know him personally and media comments regarding love loyalty etc change very quickly in the media and most times ill informed.

To those who believe a person should be banned or culled for daring to question our manager is pathetic. Also were in my posting did I say sack him - I suggested they delay his new contract until the end of the season and instead finalize Aggers contract. Also those who question the ability or use of Benyoun Babel or Keane - Ask yourselves who paid a great deal of money for them. But no that may lead to questioning our managers assessment of players or his motivational skills. Rafa should go down on his knees each night and thank God Houllier left him Gerrard, He dragged us from the abyss in Istanbul and again against West Ham in the Cup Final yet all he seems to get from the manager is lukewarm comments most of the time. Also to paraphase another poster - ' he has bought enough young players to fill a local school' yet when are we going to see any of them make an impact. In a couple of years time at the current rate there will be no local lads in the team and we will end up without a true Liverpool pulse. No our manager is not perfect and too many fans should remove the blinkers when any discussion of him is raised. And to repeat myself I suggested he not have his contract renewed until the end of the season not be sacked - may he could do with a little incentive.

Another master class by Rafa this week. Were top of the league but lets it be known we will not win league. Keane had a very good second half early in the week so lets keep him on the bench - Rafa only paid £20M for him. Rafa also explains in week that Valencia only won the league because Real Madrid and Barcelona were in transition. Yet reason brought to anfield was to break monopoly of Arsenal Chelsea and United. So do we have to wait whilst they are in transition. Rafa's whole philosophy is to out run/work opposition and hope a special player gets a goal. Priority is not to loss rather than to win. I have now no doubt we will never win the league with Rafa as manager. Was optomistic a little earlier in season but as usual we are again predictable with too many average players bought a considerable expense. I now hope the board delay his contract until the end of the season and instead concentrate in finalising Aggers contract.

Owen please -
Not a bad shout when Skrtel fully fit. Agger and Skrtel hopefully will be our future centre backs but this keeps him in the team and provides cover and gives him more first team experience. Remember Lawrenson started a left back and it never stopped him from becoming a great centre back. It could solve a problem position for us that Dossena has failed to do and with Aurelio injury problems I think it is worth a bit of a run. Also Insua looks a little lightweight but maybe with time who can say but not yet.

More years is more important than more money
uncle bob replied to Rory Fitzgerald 's topic in Liverpool FC
I still don't understand the clamour to give Rafa a FIVE year extension. True we are top of the league but if we are really honest our performances this season with a few notable exceptions have been very poor and again too many easy home points dropped. The two big summer signings (Keane and Dossena) have yet to convince with three seasons without a trophy I see no reason not to wait a little longer before committing the club to another five years of Rafa. The boards offer of two seems reasonable with maybe a rolling contract thrown in. IMHO we need to finalise Agger ang Kuyt's contracts asap -
if we are still top on the 2nd of january , based on our previous seasons I believe we will win the prem (please god)

All the valuations are ludicrous not only are they all over the top i.e. A fans valuation but it does allow for payments of existing transfer costs or settlement of players contracts. Also in the extremely unlikely event that the club was forced to sell to service bank costs, then the whole of the football world would know and it would end up a 'fire sale' with players going for a fraction of their worth.
-
The bottom line is we have no real quality full backs, our so called reserves are very poor and without Keane or Torres no strikers worth a candle.. Also after 4 years of bring in young overseas players the board should bring in a total block and concentrate if possible on developing local lads. Not one of the young buys (under 20) brought in by Rafa have been any good- i.e. likely to become regular first team players. Also SACK OUR SCOUTS
-
Totally agree and was criticised for saying it earlier, He even makes Josemi look good. Come back JAR all is forgiven. Also Degan may even be worse. The board should now stop buying any further full backs Rafa recommends and seek outside help to find some.
