Spot on Also to anyone but a truely blinkered supporter Arsenal play the style of football we can only dream about
-
At this present moment in time NO Believe our priorty this year and every year should be the league (the bread and butter) after that CL but not at expense of chase for Prem We are light years behind Chelsea Man U and Arsenal and saddly behind Everton We dont have a team any more just a group of players - thats the Raf legacy
-
Having read all seven pages - it is apparent to a large group of fans that Rafa is all seeing all knowing and if anyone dares to question him they are subject to mindless abuse. Redknapp has every right to comment the way he has and dont give me all this rubbish about being anti Liverpool. People have picked sides in a board room dispute and so all logic has gone out of the window. Its early February we out of the league chase by early Jan now closer to Sunderland in points than arsenal which considering the money spent and the basis of the team he inherited is a disgrace and if fans concentrated soley on what has been happening on the pitch I believe Rafa could of reasonably be sacked in January. For record I agree totally with OUR FORMER CAPTAIN that we will never win the league with Rafa. We have one of the largest squads in the prem but its filled with a great deal of average players - Again Rafa's policy of quantity over quality Rotation can work if limited and you have quality in depth - we over rotate regardless of form and we do not have enough quality players to rotate. The question fans should also ask is - what is their priority League or Champs league if the later then Rafa's your man (subject to qualifying each year) but if it is the Prem (my preference) than Rafa's points total each year has been woeful and for that he does not deserve the level of support he appears to be realising. His man managment skills leave a lot to be desired, and his transfer dealings with one or two exceptions has been piss poor. Rafa can no doubt get the team up for cup games but his overly cautious approach to the league has cost us silly points time and time again. Watching the team recently it is evident to all that we now have a group of individuals on the park not a team. We are difficult to beat (hence the large number of draws) but in the creative area of the game we are boring and predictable - and that is down to the manager as well as the players
-
It will also ensure no further money to buy players and then fall further behind top 3 next we will be below bluenoses (at end of seasons) Who ever buys club will use assets as collateral dont delude yourselves so club will always have debt - its how its serviced that matters. All this nonsense about Hicks is silly - so he upset Rafa - Well for the record Rafa's upset me enough this season with crap football lousey team selection and struggling to get 4th place having just spent the best part of £70m - Stop acting like Directors (badly informed ones at that ) and get behind the team and do not give players the excuse of club turnmoil to allow sub standard performances
-
Collectivley what? - ruin club further by continual in fighting or by having club run by supporters collective who dont have a clue in running a multi million pound company Stop all this nonsense and get back to what we best at - SUPPORTING OUR TEAM
-
No just realist not delusional as to my place in the world - get real you a custumer/supporter and unless you have £500 million spare stop kidding yourself you are going to have an influence on club ownership
-
I dont know if will be worse or better - not sold to them originally as Moores and co thought they only in it for quick profit I am just a supporter and realise niave to believe a few hundred fans are going to overide billionaires - get real
-
Enough is enough Reduce revenue stream to Hicks and Co will only reduce money available for improving team Continued upheaval will also deter quality players from joining club and may result in some senior players leaving in hope of winning medals elsewhere Why will DIC be better - more guess work from the ignorant Why buyout - will in all probability fail as will be run by bunch of fans without necesary financial clout or knowledge - then if successful in raising money 2-3 years down line will be forced to sell club and everyone loses ther 5 grand Just get behind the team - stop this constant moaning - usually by fans more interested in sounding more important than they really are The team is all that matters at the moment - put your soap boxes away and return to being supporters not would be directors

Back to the original thread - Bascombe article like all journalist a bit OTT but the kernel of truth is still there. Carragher was pissed off with GH for playing him at full back, he has developed his growing reputation as a great centre back. From his personel point of view its highly probable that he would be annoyed to make way for anyone at the club. The first half was appalling and when you consider Sunderlands away form, for a manager to be pre-occupied with having essentially three centre backs to deal with them is crazy. It is becoming more apparent that Rafa is becoming the architect of his own destruction. I appreciate there have been of the field problems but in the last 6 months Rafa has bought all his targets. If Rafa is sacked he can look to several of his own mistakes: Rotation policy that undermined players confidence - decisions on formation often decided by fittness coaches assessment rather than previous performances Poor buys and inability to significantly improve majority of players he has bought. Overly concerned with opposition particulary teams outside top 4 Poor record against Man U, Chelsea or Arsenal - teams we must be competing with if we hope to win the league. Poor quality of football - too much long ball More concerned with not losing rather than winning And now if article is to be believed, alienation his best and longest serving players Regarding Champions league - if we win it, he will of course guarantee his job for next season - but if we are all honest its the Prem we want and a champions league win should not mask current problems Finally - all blame not down to manager - players also for what ever reason have not performed as well as we know they can
-
Fairly honest appraisal of our team of late. We have however played some exiting football but saddly not often enough - I now fear we are a team (and I us the term loosely) and manager better equipped for cup competitions than the steady consistency need to win the league - and that is very worrying. Another worry is that if you review the players Rafa has bought (regardless of cost - that seperate arguement) many start reasonably well but fade quite quickly. So is their initial form down to the previous manager and later form down to Rafa and his tactics, rotation etc. A prime example of this at the moment is Alonso, and Sissoko before him. Maybe we are coming close to Rafa's sell by date (common for most european coaches) just like the final days of GH - Like and hope not but saddly coming around to this conclusion. In Rafa's favour however he still has support of very vocal section of fans and as stated before Hicks will not want to alienate us further by sacking Rafa until the majority of fans concur.
-
Only watched on Sky highlights - so appreciate dont get full picture - However as well as individuals playing poorly we didnt look like a team just a group of individuals and fter nearly 4 years in charge Rafa must take a large part of the blame. Not been same since Pako left - Did he have a bigger influence on team than any of us know? Desperate for width and strikers who can retain possession Need two full backs and two wingers to even hope to challenge for Prem - so challenge atleast two seasons away unless a wealth Russian buys us
-
1. Maureen a non starter therefore speculation waste of time - irrespective of his ability too many fans are against him and Hicks unlikely to antagonise fans any further. 2. Rafa will remain manager until vocal majority of fans turn against him - same reason as 1. 3. As fans we have to decide what are priorities are for the club - for me its the league and so decision on new manager for me would be someone with detailed knowledge of Prem - Who I dont know 4. My guess is Rafa's minimum brief was CL therefore if we dont succeed my guess Rafa may walk before pushed. 5. Rafa not totally to blame - Players have been a disgrace since november - Do we have squad that should be on shirt tails atleast of top 3 teams? - Maybe we as fans have had blinkers on regarding quality of our players- Spine excellent - the rest are average prem players no more some less than average. 6. If Rafa stays - new players to be quality not quantity and instructions from board to limit extent of rotation until we have a team again rather than 11 players on the pitch
-
If results hadnt of been so mixed since the Reading game Hicks would not of spoke to Klinsman and Rafa wouldnt of aired his concerns so publicly - Therfore results do colour this debate. If there is no way forward - what do you want us to do - be relegated??? As often stated club consists of Directors, Manager, players and supporters - in the best teams all are pulling in same direction - so why shouldnt we - enough is enough - Hicks and Co admitt they made mistakes ( and so did Rafa) They have agreed to buy Macherano - thats £75m outlay on players in 6 months and yes I know we have got some back on players but Hicks has given Rafa the money to buy where he wanted. He has also gone on record Rafa's job is safe till end of his contract atleast - Therefore yes lets all move forward together because for me if we end up below bluenoses I would be shouting for quite a few to lose their jobs
-
Further dissent, boycotts etc are now only counter productive. Hicks realises he has made mistakes but so has Rafa Its been announced that Hicks intends to allow Rafa to complete his contract and maybe beyond. Rafa will now only lose his job if results continue to be poor and he loses support of fans - which is how it should be for all managers. Club has to service debt which was foregone conclusion when Moores/Parry sold club to Americans instead of DIC. (Parry kept his job, Moores got extra £8m and life time seat on board.) As Club needs to find £30m a year it is essential from a commercial sense (disregarding a footballing sense) that we not only qualify for CL but allows reach the knock out stages. Remember no extra revenue will be coming into club until new stadium built and if we progress further into debt Hick/Gillette will be left with a white elephant and lose a lot of money. Remember Hicks and Co not stupid therefore he has apologised for going public in spate with Rafa ( who did start the public row and hasnt apologised) - So for all our sakes lets just concentrate on uniting behind the team. Hicks, Gillette and Rafa here for all this season and in all probability the next. Therefore lets help keep the team focused and dont give the players any excuses not to perform to the best of their ability. Forward together - No more exuses and 3-0 tonight would be a good start
-
I am new to this supporters web site but in common with many supporters have mixed feelings regarding Rafa( in the league only). However as Hicks is fully aware to build bridges with fans he will not sack Rafa unless fans turn against him. As this unlikely in the next two seasons, Rafa here to stay so as good supporters lets just get behind everyone at LFC - let critisms and threats of boycott fade away and just support team we have. Come the summer I hope that a strong character is appointed to replace Pako and transfers limited to quality not quantity
