  1. Have now read quite a few postings on this and the similar links and in essence those of us who have reservations about SoS organised protests should either organise our own protests or shut up - using a earlier mentioned Trade Union analogy if you dont support us be quiet - been to a few similar union meetings so foregive me for daring to disagree with SoS. 1. I dont want a co-operative style run club as in most cases power corrupts and I'm sure some of the 'founders' of SoS will be expecting preferential treatment in the unlikely event that day may come. Just because you are a fan doesnt mean you are capable of running a multi million pound company. As they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. 2. I believe that these protests are counter productive at best and could even help form entrenched positions at worst. 3. The protest last night was embarrassing to the half time address and presentation which brought no kudos to those organising it. 4. Because the protests are being reported in the media and senior memebers of SoS are by there own admission have off the record discussions with 'journalists'. Dont assume this means tacit support it doesnt - just info to sell newsprint and we all know what depths the media will go to to sell newspapers. 5. Hicks is a Billionaire who lives thousands of miles from Liverpool and he will sell the club when he is good and ready and he recieves an offer that gives him the return he wants. Its dillusional to think he his going to sell the club for less than he thinks its worth because of the protests in a pub of a few hundred disgruntled fans. 6. To ensure a reasonable return Hicks needs Champions league qualification (4th) and the occassional good cup run. We as fans want more so lets really piss him off and he can then reduce the transfer kitty to achieve his minimum requirements or increase costs to fans. And that is a reasonable scenario from a pissed off owner. 6. To all those who believe DIC our new saviours - it was the same media earlier in the year suggesting that if DIC buy club Rafa is history and they would arrange for Hicks to be the hatchetman before he left - Thats if you believe these journalist gurus 7. Conclusion - Leave the protests outside the ground and let everyone concentrate on the reason we go the match - To watch football
  2. Question 1. Have DIC stated they will sell to SoS after 7 years or what 2. If that so doesnt that confirms Parry/Moores concerns that DIC only in it for short term profit
  3. I may be guilty as charged but was more concerned about the possible disruption to the TEAM by all these protests and the damage to our reputation that the half time protest had last night. As I stated earlier Hicks is a business man full stop - A few irrate customers no matter how vocal will not make him change his mind - He will sell when he is satisfied with his likely profit If SoS want some positive suggestions (although I am not to sure you would have sufficient support to make it work) - remember the Sun 1. Boycott all LFC goods and services. 2. Boycott all goods/services of clubs sponsors. 3. Mass return of season tickets. 4. Boycott all LFC matches on TV 5. Advertise your boycott
  4. 1.I dont consider them to be snide remarks but statement of fact 2. So 1000 people have attended your meeting but if you held 10 meetings was it a different audiance each time or the same 100. 3. I am concerned that the general public with the help of the gutter press may start to assume that SoS is representative of all our fans when this is patently untrue. I dont blame SoS for the actions of the gutter press but I am suspect of you dealing with them in behind the scenes breifings. 4. So Parry and Moores were liars when they explained concerned about DIC long term plans for club - proof please. 5. At least using the internet is more open than quiet discussions with the gutter press - I dont even trust the date on current newspapers so what ever else they print is likely to be garbage to
  5. Arent you making the assumption that if someone disagrees with SoS they are a lesser fan. I wouldnt attend an SoS meeting because I believe it is a waste of time and a forum for those who are no doubt sincere fans, but to me it is just a place to pretend you will make a difference whilst I dont believe that to be so. And you also mention 'discussions with journalist' as if this is a good thing - Journalist worked on the Sun but I wouldnt respect them. The truth is the media would speak to anyone if it would help fill newsprint and please dont assume all publicity is good publicity unless all that matters is seeing you name in print. Also remember when having discussions with DIC - Parry/Moores didnt wish to sell to them eighteen months ago because they were not convinced they had the long term interest of the club at heart.
  6. Sanity thank goodness
  7. Why in gods name should DIC wish to speak to SoS - they just a small noisy group of fans who are a little delusional about there own importance. DIC would be better sitting in ground away from Directors box or just visit local pubs on match day - More likely to get real fans reaction than our new super fans comments
  8. 1. depends on definition - see my earlier post if you wish to know what I mean. 2. Like I said earlier delusional - Hick bought LFC for commercial reasons and if DIC do buy him out it will have nothing to do with a small although very vocal group of supporters. And question if DIC so keen on buying us now, why are they prepared to offer so much more now than eighteen months ago. Didnt the board reject them because they didnt believe DIC had the long term interests of the club in mind.
  9. 1. Notice I asked if you are a Super Fan hence the question mark, But by your response who knows... 2. Why is it wrong to believe a small yes small group of fans with no significant funds meeting in a local pub will affect the ownership of a club owned by an American Billionaire who lives thousands of miles away. Its not me who is delusional or funny
  10. Exactly - you werent aware what else going on - Another Super Fan? Wonder who now embarassing this great club Hicks and Co or our new Super and Super Super Fans. Lets just get back to the football and see if we can get 3rd not 4th- Its why we go for goodness sake and noisey protests from a section of the Kop or meeting in the Sandon ain't going to affect the clubs ownership. Its time for a reality check. ps Hope MO gets a better reception at weekend than last time - remember Cardiff
  11. Spot on We now have several catorgories of fans Ordinary Fans - Just loves the team and the football club (like me) The Superfans - Who love to to be the centre of attention The Super Super Fans - the would be new Directors that everybody else would pay for with their £5 Grand Cann't we just get to the end of the season being concerned soley about the football To the Super Fans and Super Super Fans if so unhappy boycott because sacrifice and money is all that will influence new owner. Chant all you like but it won't make a blind bit of difference to Hicks except piss him of to the extent that he may reduce the transfer kitty or put up prices even more.
  12. Too much talk about protests - leave it - Tonight is soley about 3 points with no distractions bad enough to play without Torres than to have another 'protest' that won't make a blind bit of difference to club ownership but may affect teams performance. I for one dont wish to see us finish below the bluenoses this year
  13. I have never known so many would be football club directors amongst our fans - when not one of the has a clue about the club finances or how to run a large company. To many would be chiefs. I for one will be interested soley in the result - you have all heard how this off the field nonsense is affecting the team but to some that doesnt matter Hicks is here as long as he wants to be Parry and Moores sold him the club so unless someone has a load of cash to buy Hicks out (which I doubt seeing DIC dont agree with hicks valuation) just get behind the team and leave all this nonsense at home. Who are these future Directors if we have a fans buy out - a cheap way for them to get to run a major football club and sound like important people -
  14. A lot of what Kop 90 says makes good sense - However it skates over a lot of the managers deficencies this year - with the likely signing of Mascherano in the next few weeks he has spent over £150m in less than 4 years. I understand he has sold players also but he did inherit a top four team and he has bought a large number of average/squad players. He has now realised if what is reported to be true in press that for rest of season he will be playing his strongest team each week with obviously less rotation. Why now when its too late to challenge for league. Rafa was so wed to the rotation system that served him well in spain he bought quantity over quality. I know players can tire if they play too often however players are very seldom tired when in a winning team. Also his rotation policy is reported to be based upon stats and what he see's on training ground rather than previous performance in first team. Players that have a good game are suddenly dropped for tactical reasons and it must be totally disheartening for such players. Rafa should make players fight for the shirt and keep it if they play well Crouch was a prime example last season rotated out of form. To you Rafa may bring us league success - I hope you are right however all the evidence too date points to a great CL manager, a good domestic cup manager and a poor premier league manager. I also have supported the team for over 45 years and do remember both the good and not so good years but we always regarded the league as the most important competition and I still do - To me that is the Liverpool way and our main focus every year must be the league
  15. From reading various newspaper articles since DIC were interested - agree could be nonsense but without inside knowledge it is pure speculation. What is definate the DIC group would not be bullied by Rafa to release funds and his tirade and silly press conference performance would not likely to endear him to a lot of potential owners. Also I to be honest review news like most people if if fits with my own opinions I tend to agree with it - It doesnt make it right or a fact just my opinion
  16. One silver lining for the Rafa fan club - if Hicks stays more likely Rafa be allowed to complete his contract. I believe if DIC take over completely unless Rafa wins Champions League Rafa history - they will bring in there own manager similar to Abramovich and Maureen - Ranier was popular with Chelsea fans - finish 2nd but was still history
  17. Brown may be an option but would find it difficult to support a former Manc (and that included Ince) PLease no more CM we have enough Left back and decent wingers please - more quality less quantity in transfer dealings.
  18. Absolutley spot on - never heard some many Liverpool fans have a pop at our captain and best player than would happen at any other club. Short memories is all I can say and I for one is eternally grateful he plays for us. I can only assume that those who always critising him know very little about football. Ask any manager in the country if the could pick one of our players 90-100% would say Gerrard but of course what would they know. Torres has been great this season but he also had some bad games but no critism there. Just be grateful we have a player like SG in our team and instead direct your disatisfaction to those who have really under achieved this year which includes the manager. Its took Rafa nearly 4 years to eventually recognise his rotation policy isnt working and now with the possibility of the sack he has (so we are lead to believe) he is going to play his strongest side till the end of the season. Pity not done earlier than may be playing for more than 4th place in the league. I agree with everything SG says in article and he also includes the manager in stating we have everything now to challenge more effectively for the league. At the current rate its going to take us longer to win league than it took Manx Thanks Stevie for telling it like it is -
  19. Definately not on a windup and I am disgusted with anyone spitting at or threatening someone they disagree with Dont you think more could of been acomplished by a civilised discussion with him - thats obviously why he had the balls to go the Sandon in the first place. Also please dont question my loyalty to Liverpool been a fan for over 40 years - just believe we are better than the behaviour shown to Hicks Junior
  20. Read the Daily Post article and was ashame that we have Liverpool Supporters who behave like idiots - spitting like little little children. Heard all the excuses about how upset fans are with his father but that behaviour is unacceptable - I would be happy if the Sandon supplied any CCTV footage to club and fans found abusing, spitting or throwing beer at Hicks junior should be banned - No excuse for such appalling behaviour. It really will encourage the Hicks family to respect the club in any future dealings Ashamed today with some of our supporters
  21. Point of Mascherano or Alonso is a mute one - At the moment Alonso playing well below what we know he can do. If he returns to his best then Gerrard-Mascherano-Alonso brilliant mid 3 in 4-3-3 however as been repeated so often for this to work need Finnan back to his best a new LB and two new wide class players that will tuck in a work hard when required yet capable 10-12 goals each. Babel may in the future but to date he has disappointed. Therefore with this formation it will cost a lot of money - do we have it Need to be buying in the quality of Mesi, Tevez Ronaldo and thats unlikely and it also needs to be played consistantly with minimual rotation - which would also be unlikely
  22. Good point if we could be sure that Alonso would return to form of 18 months ago - Im not sure But would be happy to keep him provided funds for full back and/or quality winger available - desperately needed more than CM
  23. good points
  24. obviously we both at different games last night - had plenty of possession last night before Crouch came on but our goal threat increased dramaticly once he came on - forced inter deeper and deeper - they were frightend of him and it gave much more room for Torres and Kuyt. Only part of game disappointing was our crossing - if had been better believe return game would of been a non event
  25. Last night his best performance since joining us - creative as well as destructive
