  1. When someone is getting paid 200,000 a week, has been backed to the hilt under difficult circumstances, it's not unreasonable to expect him to stop biting people.....repeatedly. He will do something again sooner or later. The ban he gets then will mean we get nothing for him.
  2. The forum seems to be working awful hard to convince each other that what Suarez did was not as bad as everyone claims........sure, one could argue whether it was worse than a head butt or a leg breaking tackle.... But looking at that video, the very act is on a different level. Not even joking to say that its almost vicious like an animal. Is this really what we accept now from Liverpool players? Why, because success at any cost is our mantra?
  3. Let's be honest if this was a united player? How would we respond? I reckon quite a few would have Been calling for a ban at club level
  4. I can't decide if the last few pages have been comedy gold or utter drivel. Par for the course for the transfer thread then. All that remains is the disappointment and desperation come August :)/>
  5. Its not just about big names its about proven quality. Moreno and Can are risky propositions at best. Of course we need a bigger squad so they make sense along with Lambert but do they really improve the first team? Lallana maybe does....maybe.
  6. I can't see us getting Sanchez or Shaqiri if we get lallana. Would everyone be satisfied if that's the case? When the likes of Chelsea are getting costa and maybe fabregas?

  8. Defenders are probably as afraid of coming to us as strikers are of moving to Chelsea . Because of our system, our defenders are more prone to being put under pressure without support and make stupid errors. Granted the system might work with better players but I think it's unfair to blame the players alone
  9. How do they determine attraction of the fixture?
  10. Folks talking about FFP for the premiership do realize that we are running at a loss don't they?
  11. Great to watch but has a weird running style. Like a squirrel scampering about the pitch.
  12. Moses never adds anything when he comes on and did nothing of note yesterday. Seems like an excessively cruel punishment for anyone to be taken off for Moses.
  13. We need 3rd spot so as to avoid qualifying and of course if pigs fly and Man U win the UCL
  14. Perhaps it's already been discussed but what was the point of putting on Moses for Sturridge? Trying to make it easier for them?
  15. Aquilani I thought was doing well in italy
  16. Lock this thread now. We are one loss away from being level on points with 5th place. Just about barely managed to beat the bottom placed team with a last minute penalty after struggling for large periods of the game. Lets keep our sanity and wits about us. We still have some pretty tough fixtures ahead, play like this away and Southampton will not be so forgiving.
  17. Its like nobody ever learns. We do this all the time, build our hopes up with a big win and then lose to some low level team. We lack the consistency, win tomorrow and then we'll see.
  18. What about Diego Costa? Im surprised how little mention he gets on here
  19. I understand you all yearn for a return to the days of yore when football was all about the local fans. No denying that the local fans put in more time, effort and money than everyone else and should have greater say. However, lets be honest, the club makes a crap load of money from television rights sold around the world. It would be naïve of them to completely ignore the global market and pretend none of it matters. Everyone wants the club to buy world class players, but don't want the club to leverage its incredible world wide support to try and make this happen? You want to be a locals only club? Like what, Hull?
  20. So Downunder the east international representative is being voted in by a forum comprised primarily of folks who don't live in the East International region? Interesting process.
  21. I have to assume you are being facetious when you write that, there can be no other explanation for it. So basic human rights are now the preserve of the west and the rest of us savages are just catching up? You are talking about countries that have had the highest per capita income in the world for decades now. But according to you lets give them some time because they've just come out of the caves?
  22. Mistreatment of migrant workers in the Middle East is endemic. They are held in camps with their passports often kept by the owner of the company. Often mistreated and underpaid with absolutely no recourse for justice. When they are paid, the wages are a joke considering how wealthy these countries are ( laborers still come though because they are desperate and dirt poor). Heaven forbid you get in a car accident with a local national because it will be your fault no matter what. Westerners are treated just fine and often don't have a clue ( or chose not to care) about what goes on. Even for foreigners in office settings, a westerner or local is often paid 3 times what someone from India/Pakistan might get paid for the same job. Maids hired from Asian countries are abused and molested routinely again with no chance of justice. With all due respect, homosexuality being illegal is the least of the problems here when basic rights are not respected. Having lived in that part of the world for 18 hrs, I can tell you that it is a travesty to award them the World Cup. The pressure will not change their outlook one bit, there will be a huge PR push to smooh things over but nothing will really change. It is ingrained in them that these migrant workers are beneath them and disposable in very real terms. Based on current mortality rates and expected spike in construction work, BBC estimated 4000 worker deaths by he time World Cup comes around. How do you feel about watching this spectacle knowing these people died for your viewing pleasure? That's the harsh truth coming from someone who experience it firsthand. Also, how many of you have played football in 55 degree heat? I have and it's madness. Fifa is a corrupt joke
  23. Heh you got me there . In spite of all that, I can't help but keep reading. Despite my many years on this forum telling me that the high hopes on this thread are likely to be disappointed, hope springs eternal........else we wouldn't be Liverpool fans.
  24. Having sadly read through most of this thread, it has to be said that the amount of speculation on here based on little to zero information is amazing! Someone needs to figure out how many productive hours have been wasted on this thread.......
