There's no question the current signings will improve the team. However if someone had told us six months ago, that we would be spending this amount of money on Carroll, Downing, Adam and Henderson (even Suarez?). I doubt the reaction would have been as favorable. Over the past few months, the forum has collectively argued itself into accepting that these are all we could or should get. Whether that is true or not, what will be telling will be how Kenny can mould these players into a unit. The unknown factor here was DC, I wonder who picked Suarez as a transfer choice. From what I recall of Kenny at Blackburn, he mostly signed British/Scandinavian players. Could that tendency have pushed us away from looking harder at other transfer targets. Suarez is obviously a special talent but is an indication that non-British talent is often undervalued. Again, we've been burned before with non-british talent so what do I know........This is a pointless discussion really since we will never know what factors played into making decisions. In the end, if he can get this team to perform well as a unit then really none of us can complain and as Chewie said, he has earned himself the benefit of the doubt. The owners have delivered and he can have no complaints.
