I think it's good for the rivalry if both teams are doing well however liverpool would have to be doing betgter of course. derby games wouldnt be too special if everton were relegated. But a super cup game against them would go down in history... well as close as a super cup game can go anyway ;p

Are you sure about that? as far as i know you can draw anyone after the first knockout round. This has always been the way hasnt it?

Good post. Amazinfg that we've only conceeded 5 goals in the league from open play... astounding. I agree with what you are trying to say about the goals for and against, it is actually pretty decent but unfortunately we seem to have gotten very few points for those goals. I didn't read all of the post so I hope I'm not copying one of your points but if you look at the table there is one interesting thing. Chelsea have 11 more points than us, even though we have a better goal difference. I think this is down to us hammering those teams at the start of the season, then the draws during the new year.

the away game should be played as if it were a home game Inter wont be great at breaking us down and when they do push forward, they'll leave spaces at the back.. one goal will end it.. if we tried to defend it, you never know. stranger things have happened!

Snorky I have been banging on about this issue myself lately and I think it needs to be considered by all those who say they want the league before the CL. It's simple, if you are more passionate about the league then prove it.

Well i think Torres might have been unhappy at first as he had no way of communicating with anyone but the spanish speaking players (not many).. but once he started scoring then he started coming out with beaming interviews and post match talk etc. as others on here have seen, he now talks only of loving it here. he even said that if Rafa left that he would stay here.

it is terribly depressing to be left wondering what Hicks and co might do to our club. why oh why isnt there a billionaire liverpool supporter who knows how to keep his mouth shut, is ambitious yet patient at the same time.. we can only dream.

If the fans want the premiership title more than they want the CL then they should create a better atmosphere for the premiership games. It's that simple. as for people talking about dark days etc... Ive plenty of words to describe them. It was only a few years ago that we participated in the greatest european cup final in history and came out as winners. The problem is that people generally expect things to get better and better. People think that Rafa is the 'problem'. Very few actually stop to think about what might happen if rafa were to leave. We could end up not even being a 'cup team'. We might not see another CL final in 20 years AND also not compete for the premiership. Everytime we make the CL semis or the final, our profile is raised. If we hadn't won the CL in 05 and/or not made it to the final last year then I assure you that the likes of Torres would be playing for utd and not us. I'm not happy that we are in a fight for 4th, I'm not too upset about it either tho but I would be over the moon with a 4th place finish and number 6... that would be just as good as it was in 05 for me. To make yet another final would surely raise our global profile. When we won it in 05, everyone said it was a fluke. When we made the final in 07 and gave milan a game, that talk was nowhere to be seen... now , and I'm sure you've all noticed, teams are afraid of playing us in europe cause we have consistently beaten the crap out of all the top teams we've played in the last 3 years in europe. How can that thought not bring a smile to your face? whatever about Inter, they are top of Serie A and yet they totally bottled it against us at anfield. As the players were waiting to come onto the pitch, you could see the nervousness on their faces. Nobody fears us in the league but at this stage, that is true. Before Rafa came to Anfield, the same would have been said for teams in the CL but now there isn't a team in europe whether it's Barca, Milan, Juve, Chelsea or any of the other top teams who wouldn't have serious concerns about drawing us in a knockout round.

I didn't see the utd game but i watched some goal clips on youtube and I have to say that he looks nothing special in them. will have to wait and see (more games) but from the goals on youtube , I don't see him scoring many of them in the premiership.. note the terrible defending. the french league is a total joke.

maybe its not all about what Rafa does different but simply the atmosphere in anfield. Anfield isnt imtimidating at all for almost all premier league matches. Did anyone notice the look on the faces of a few inter players as they were waiting to come out of the tunnel? I'd say they were already imtimidated by the sounds of the crowd myself. if we want to win the league then the fans also have to gain some consistency and celebrate and sing as loud as possible for even the smaller premiership games.

I know the tie is far from over but we're in a bloody strong position. Italian teams are famous for being unable to chase a game.. they sit back in general (even at home so i hear)... Im absolutely delighted and I feel like it may actually be possible for us to go all the way. early days and we do need to get a result in the san siro but after that, the team we draw in the 1/4's will be quaking in their boots. an early away goal at inter!!
