Was underwhelmed by the Iraola news but having consumed a lot of Iraola themed content in the last 48 hours I’m on board. There are concerns about how his high energy style will cope with 2 games a week but apparently the new medical staff he had last season made a difference in second half of season performance which had been an issue in his first 2 seasons at Bournemouth. There’s a Semenyo interview where he says there’s no days off from training but not sure that can be the case with the number of games we’ll have. Also he’s been managing a team that has less than 50 percent possession so remains to be seen if he can get the team controlling games as well as counter pressing. Stylistically he does seem the closest thing out there to Klopp. Would have liked someone with winning pedigree so there’s a risk he’s going to be learning on the job.

Well this is concerning. How many first team players left from the title winning team? That team has been dismantled without much cash injection and we don’t seem capable of negotiating new contracts. Club has gone from well run and strong to an absolute mess in 12 months.

He was good last season when he was alternating with and coming on for Diaz. He’s fine as a squad player, the trouble is we never replaced Diaz and too much responsibility has been put his way.

Maybe they have someone lined up for when his contract expires next summer. But by not changing course now you’re risking sacking off two seasons in a row at a time where there’s no strong challenge from City. Been said many a time but we had it all in front of us to win the league this season and the way we’ve f***ed it all up is infuriating. We just had to get low 80s and Arsenal would have crumbled.
