Surprised that Texeira did not get a look in towards the end of the season. I was sure that he'd get a game here and there. Did he get injured again?

Very impressive, I thought. Played like someone who wasn't making his debut and was much older than seventeen. Gelled well with Coutinho and ran at the fullback quite often. Raheem Sterling has genuine competition as our premier youth talent, what works in Jordan's favor is that he's bigger than Raheem. Big enough, for a winger. Ibe did not look tactically naive either. Worked hard off the ball but importantly (just like Downing), he stretched their midfield by staying wide when he had to giving Coutinho some room to work with and technically got an assist for our goal. I can see him getting a few games next season, looks a proper talent.

What does that mean?

Assaidi has like 90 pace and acceleration on FIFA. .tv said so when we signed him.

Lescott's always done better at left back than at centre half. I'm not sure about how good Williams is but Lescott in the middle would be awful.

Thats the reason Rodgers has given hasn't he for having Carra back in the team and Skrtel not getting games? With Carra retiring, I think his wonderful trait will have to be replaced. Especially when players like Kelly and Wisdom will be getting a fair few games at the back, in a system where we'd play a high back line at times and one where our defence from set pieces needs to be shored up. You can see why the likes of Jagielka and Dawson are integral to their teams defences even though they aren't the perfect defensive specimen and have gone through horrible patches of poor form, because of the value they add with the 'leadership' - which is a bit of a blanket term, I agree, like 'dynamic' winger. There's probably specifics to it that Skrtel and/or Agger don't bring to the defence that Rodgers is unhappy with, that Carra does. Which is what his replacement needs to bring in.

I think we also need a leader, who talks a lot, and can set up a defense. Which is why I'm probably thinking that we might actually go for Ashley Williams.
