Wasn't Sarr linked with a move somewhere earlier in the window for around £35m?

I think most of us would understand getting Sarr for around £40m as long as we got another younger RW option as well especially if we also got a CM in too. It's not our money but £80m for Sarr is crazy and him as the only RW signing is also very disappointing.

Hughes has effectively checked out too

With every passing day (hour) we look more and more chaotic. Previously suspected Hughes was doing both jobs at the same time, but then dismissed that on the basis that even we couldn't be that utterly stupid.

I'm now resting my hopes on him and Barcola forming a lethal partnership. Hopefully Barcola's pace opens up some space for Isak to just blam the ball in the net and maybe helps Wirtz too. Gakpo always cutting in does make the central areas a little congested at times.

Been so long since I've seen him play I've forgotten how good/poor he was. He'd certainly be an option to bring on if we've ever got a lead to protect. Mind you, we haven't been in that position for a while (against Chelsea at the start of May).

Alonso has been given a huge squad and lots more new signings in this window. I've no doubt Alonso is a very good manager but it's going to be hard to properly compare him and Iraola given the squad the latter has been given by our idiotic Sporting Director.

Arsenal don't seem to be worried about having lots of options for each position - they're currently the opposite to us in that regard. They've got about 7 International standard centre backs on their books...
