Yeah we should deffo have had a real go at signing Gordon - no idea if we did. Everything this window looks half-arsed from Hughes. But anyway it's perfectly possible that Gordon just fancied a spell in Barcelona - it's a fantastic place to live - I'd love to live there for a while. They also have a pretty decent team to play in. As you say, Gethin, that fee looks very decent given the current prices floating around. Gordon would appear to have a lot more to offer than Savinho for a start.

We'd still need to replace Jones who seems certain to be leaving. I'd rather Wharton replaced him, albeit we'd need to find extra money as we're only getting around £30m for Jones. Arguably we needed a CM even if we kept Jones (and Mac Allister).

We surely should have 3 first team quality forwards. We won't have Ekitike for most of the season and have no idea how good he's going to be when he comes back. Can't really be counting on him as a first choice option.

Arsenal linked to Osimhen for £60m - we were briefly linked with him a year or so ago weren't we? £60m seems reasonable. He's 27 at the moment so is basically 28 - maybe too old for FSG.

I'm still assuming we'd be letting Chiesa go but I've not seen any firm links. I suppose he does have a fairly decent shot on him and doesn't mind having a pop from range now and again which we could do more of (Szoboszlai aside). Can't help thinking that it would (badly) sum up our recent transfer dealings if we went into next season with Chiesa as backup CF tho.

Utd spent huge sums of money on transfers that were, in the main, rubbish. Large transfer fees and huge wages - latterly because they had to in order to attract players to a generally misfiring team. I'm certainly not defending the Glazers and the way they siphoned money out of the club would rankle with me if I supported them. As would the neglect of their stadium. But I'd argue that a crazy transfer strategy (resulting in poor players - skill and mentality wise), coupled with very average managers have led to their failings more than the Glazers.

So basically Arsenal are still going to take 5 mins to set up for all free kicks and corners. Oh and for "long throws" too. Feels like they've half arsed these changes a bit.

Don't think anyone is really doing that are they - we're all varying degrees of pissed off that Bezos is being linked to our club. Some more than others perhaps but no one is saying Bezos isn't a really terrible person. FSG and Standard Chartered are terrible too that's all people are saying - there's no one trying to "justify Bezos" Oh and yeah I did previously post that Musk would've perhaps been marginally worse but they're all really horrible people in their own right.
