I reckon this written transfer thing is a complete red herring. I can't see that eligibility for "loyalty" payments will depend on whether he scrawls a desire to leave on the back of a fag-packet or not. It's surely not possible to agitate openly for a move and yet qualify for millions of pounds just because you haven't put it explicitly on paper.
