In fairness I think its difficult to offer an informed opinion even when you have seen the full 90 minutes on TV. After all you are expressing an opinion based only on what the cameraman sees.

I don't see it like that at all. Swap the names around and that's where I'm coming from. It's funny how supporters of the same team can have such polarised opinions.

Gerrard's work ethic has been curbed by a manager who has asked him to moderate his all action style to conserve energy - granted this was a pretty pointless exercise yesterday given that he didnt make any telling forward runs

Perhaps you're implying that Rafa was negligent to spend £16 million on two players who it would seem cannot play alongside one of the best central midfielders in Europe??

I can't see that there's any point in picking individual players out for special criticism. For the majority of the time this season, the majority of our players have not been very good at all.

Pennant's first game for us at Anfield was a MOM performance. He regularly beat his man and whipped in several excellent crosses. Yesterday (except for two occasions) he cut inside when in possession. Now I don't know if this is a managerially imposed development or whether it's a lack of confidence, but IMO Pennant needs to get back to playing like he did on that Anfield debut.

No we were not outplayed. We had a home team who played on the break and manged to score 2 of their 3 shots on target. Ultimately goals change games and the controversial first had the ultimate bearing on this match.

Thought we played OK till the last 30 minutes then the running down clock seemed to cause mild panic to set in. From thereonin it was long balls and misplaced passes.
