Ah don't misunderstand, i'm still very much with Rafa, BUT its undeniable that he's stubborn and sometimes tries to be a bit too clever for his own good.

I think the general consensus over all message boards is that Momo and Gerrard wouldn't make a good central midfield partnership and only a few advocated dropping Masch. In terms of Leiva, I don't think its wise throwing a promising kid into a struggling side (although I agree Gerrard doesn't look fit)

Shame he wasn't joined by the other ten (well nine discounting Reina)

Unfortunately the above view seems to becoming more and more prevalent recently, which is a worry

Actually that statement is strangely reassuring (in that you've been there before and it DID get better)

The simple fact is we're not playing well at the moment en masse, just like the first few months of last season. Losing Alonso isn't the cause of our bad form although it does reduce Rafa's options

I'll post now before the start then i've no excuse of talking in hindsight. I can't see Torres and Crouch making a decent partnership - I'll also come on later to eat humble pie if necessary.

Not sure 'resting' Torres has anything to do with actually resting Torres. Rafa's excuse of playing Kuyt and Voronin as they were better between the lines just doesn't wash does it? Last week Rafa implied Torres thought it had been easy scoring so far - he told him not to expect it to be like that against the tougher defenders. Surely Rafa can't be trying to bring Torres down a peg or two already, can he????
